I don't worry about it too much. I hunt from a wall tent and go a week without a real shower. Sponge bath, wool base, and outer layers for me. I keep the clothing away from the cooking as much as possible, but it's far from foolproof. I'm still-hunting the big woods in the ADKs so I'm not in a treestand, but mostly headed into the wind where possible. When I used to bow hunt in from a stand I was attempting the scent-free (wash, rubbermaid tub, etc.) routine.

Glad to hear you're headed back up there, Jeff. We bumped into each other a few years ago up there. We'll be back in the area around the same time. If you're setting up camp in your usual spot, I'll hopefully see you again. Good luck! GG

Hey Vinny, that new rifle sounds great, and you will definitely feel the difference as the miles add up. I’m carrying my 1895 SBL (.45-70), and have an Aimpoint micro on it (detachable) with xs ghost ring for when it rains or snows. It’s so thick where you and I go that I decided to forego the scope to save weight, and that little red dot is easy to get on target when taking a quick shot. good luck with setup, that’s half the fun! I've had the inReach mini for a couple of years and the larger one before that and it has been really solid. The Earthmate app pairs with the inReach via Bluetooth and texting is just like on your phone. The weakness of any of these type of beacons/GPS/SAT devices is having a clear view (connection) to the satellites. In the ADKs it can get pretty thick, but if I really want a message to get out I just step into a clearing to make sure it gets through. Our group hunts where there is no cell service and we all use our inReach to text back and forth.
