  1. We’re moving too slow. We subsidize big oil massively. Shift some of those subsidies to R&D
  2. I’m sorry if you’re having a bad morning. I hope things turn around. I never imagined that claiming that a point is immaterial would be taken as such a grave “attack.” But I won’t let straw man arguments stand. This is one of the things that I find so amusing about trump fanboys. They’re leading the war in regards to insults and tasteless commentary yet the moment they meet some minor opposition they act like they’ve been brutally victimized. Can’t you see the irony being so butt hurt over being told that your point was immaterial?
  3. You need to compose yourself. Your point is immaterial because nobody is arguing that oil “is all bad.” Several large sectors of the economy center on it. The idea is to begin to change direction and put forth incentives for the development of better, more sustainable alternatives.
  4. Several materials are products of oil refinery but that’s immaterial to the discussion.
  5. Phantom, you’re almost starting to make sense! That’s a great starting point for the conversation. Given that we acknowledge that climate change is real and that changing course will be a monumental challenge, how do we proceed in generating incentives that promote clean energy, both here and abroad? Boy, that smells like a new thread to me.
  6. My point was that you can’t just claim to be impartial because “there are arguments.” You need to explore the soundness of those arguments. There’s a market for writing controversial (and usually wrong) articles because of the clicks they draw. This doesn’t mean the arguments make sense. Climate change is one of the topics where there is a clear winner based on data and soundness of reasoning. I can’t think of any politicized topic where the starkness between correct and false is as clear as with climate change.
  7. I have the Vortex Ranger 1800. It’s one step above entry level but won’t break the bank. It’s worked perfectly for me and Vortex is known for their great customer service should repair or replacement be needed.
  8. Good man. This shouldn’t be a controversial position today.
  9. No, there is a consensus among actual scientists that climate change is real and that the results will be perilous if we don’t act. Serious GOP leadership doesn’t dispute this either. It’s always the most ill informed who seem to be hellbent on denying the indisputable rather than actually putting a little bit of effort to learn real things. This notion that everything is arbitrary and has two equally well reasoned positions, each being identically plausible, is absurd. It’s gaslighting at best. There is no debate about the reality of climate change. Rather, the conversation needs to be centered on how to proceed. If your position is that you don’t care because you’re shortsighted and lack the imagination to consider the outcome of inaction, that’s fine. State that position. Don’t deny it merely because it’s comforting or because you’re lazy.
  10. Current pandemic seems insufficient. Who should die in the next one? The poor again? Outside of a mass extermination, I say we increase funding of science and engineering research and put bright minds on the problem. Global policies and green alliances will help too. This should be a workable stopgap until we decide to kill off our poor. Btw, who was asking for pro-Biden positions? Increase in NIH and science research budgets is another one.
  11. Look, if you regard my sharing a link to The Sportsmen and Sportswomen for Biden Committee as causing trouble, you should go speak to your priest. If you want pictures there surely are other sites where men will be more open to your soliciting. Don’t know what the actual abortion numbers are and I don’t care. You see, I don’t believe in forcing women to be walking incubators. Instead, I care for women to have access to safe and timely reproductive care. While you’re thinking about the Nazis consider the fascist tendencies that this president so easily embraces. The whole point behind this forum section is to discuss the political considerations that we as hunters must contend with. Again, many veterans, gun owners, and hunters have endorsed Biden. You can choose to live terrified of losing your guns. But do acknowledge that it is a choice, and one not based on reality.
  12. Gee wolc123, I thought we had this discussion already. Search Versatile_Hunter and you can relive the convo. In brief, I do not believe life begins when sperm meets egg. But even more important to me is the life of the mother and her ability to self-determine.
  13. Beto ran partly on that in the aftermath of the El Paso bloodbath. The AR debate isn’t a new one and it will continue. What do you think a “point man” does? Sets policy and rules with a divine mandate? It’s the same debate and there will be the same legal mechanisms in place to work through. If you’re passionate about ARs, be vocal. Write to your congressional reps. Don’t couch your beliefs around this unfounded fear of Dems taking your guns. Again, I’ve posted links here of highly respected outdoorsmen and of veterans who are not letting fear cloud their judgement.
  14. Draw the line where you want but recognize the nuance. Being into guns doesn’t mean everything goes. You read about those militia clowns from MO getting arrested on Wisconsin? That is not the type of gun owner I want to be associated with. And most hunters feel that way too. If we were more vocal about that, the gun rights debate would be much different and we’d be doing ourselves a favor by refraining the narrative. My point in sharing the veterans link was to highlight that there are plenty of veterans who loves their ARs and are voting Biden. These guys recognize Trump’s incompetence and didn’t fall for the same old scare tactics.
  15. Pro whores? You’re starting to sound like em liberal folks
  16. Don’t know a single hunter who doesn’t love guns. That’s a bit different than being a nut and prepping for the end of days
  17. As any rational man, Biden knows that faith is personal, and that imposing religious believes onto others is not only unamerican, it's unconstitutional.
