  1. Bubba, good to know. Thanks for the heads up. Would have been funny if i shot them and thought one shot better then the other
  2. I shoot maxima hunters, and yes they are expensive. I really like how they shoot and how hard hitting they are however you probably can get similar results out of cheaper arrows. If you get the maxima's you won't be disappointed but you may be able to save money with another type of arrow.
  3. Couldn't agree more. Thanks for all the suggestions, I will be ordering some new things to play around with at the range shortly
  4. Nice, need to get out there and do some population control on those yotes this year
  5. I have had my thermacell for several years now and love it. However, the other day I pulled it out to go camping and the ignitor wouldn't spark. Anyone ever have this problem? And, is there a way to fix this or do I need to just buy a new thermacell? Rob
  6. I shoot 250gr Shockwaves with 100 grains of pryrodex pellets. It's a simple load that shoots well. I have been shooting a little more often this summer so I have been thinking about trying something different. I have been looking at getting some hornady's SSTs and maybe some cheap TC sabots to plink with at the range. I have had this omega for two years now but haven't hunted with it much. I do most of my muzzleloading hunting with my flintlock Lyman GPR but I am really like the omega this summer so I think I may use it more this fall
  7. My x7 came with a red sight post. Since I dropped a scope on it, it has been shooting real well.
  8. My x7 came with a peep sight and I got good groups but always shot high. I really like peep sights but just couldn't get it to shoot right, maybe the front sight post was the problem. I ended up putting a scope on it and it shoots real well now.

Armcomm, It's great to hear from a fellow warrior. I really appreciate the invite to hunt with you and will definitely keep in touch. I won't be in the area until the fall but I will shoot you a message when I am. I don't have any kids yet, its just me, my wife and the dog for now Sorry for taking so long to respond. I have been away from the computer this weekend. Thanks again and I'm excited to get up there, Rob

Gents, New to the forum and soon to be new to the state. Originally from PA but have been pretty nomadic the past couple of years. This fall I will be moving to the Ft Drum area, so I figured I should join a local state forum and start my scouting out via the internet. I look forward to hunting and fishing again in the northeast and hopefully getting to know some of you. Take care and good luck this upcoming season. p.s. if anyone has any suggestions on good places to live in Jefferson County that has quick access to decent hunting and fishing let me know.
