So, you're saying that if you had permission to hunt private property, that you wouldn't follow the guidelines set forth by that landowner, allowing you the privilege to hunt there? No wonder some landowners don't allow hunting on their property anymore.

It just goes to show that jetmec lives in a different world than we do. All landowners have rules, and, for me, I'm more than happy to go by this landowners rules, considering that I have about 30 acres all to myself. A great trade off, in my opinion!

What's good about that area, is that there are also multi DEP properties literally right around the corner.

What has to be taken into account, at least for the time being, is that there are new hunters who have taken up the sport due to the poor economy. They have done this, of course, to put food in the freezer the cheapest way possible. So, would enacting AR's statewide have a negative impact on these people?

Not the first time I've read about negative feelings towards PA's AR's. I don't know how true it is, but a lot of posts I've read, also say that the deer numbers are in the gutter.

Now, Sunday, on the other hand, is doable (I'll get something), but no one wants to go on Sunday, if I recall.

Unfortunately, I can't. My insurance screwed up, and claimed we didn't pay for a month. Their records show that they're wrong, but that won't be straightened out until Monday-the DMV has my regi as "suspended". It's a total disaster...........

If you're so gung ho on AR's, then why are you hunting Dutchess? There are plenty of nice bucks in Southern Dutchess right behind all the new developments. I would think that you would hunt somewhere where AR's are in place. What gives? By the way, LI is not AR either. Westchester has a hell of a lot of bick bucks-NO AR's there either. On another note, you stated that the anti-AR people don't shoot does. WRONG! When I went to the deer management meeting in Middleton a few years back, the most anti-doe hunting people, were those who SUPPORTED AR's. They were very vocal about their opposition to doe permits. So, unless you were at the meeting, you're way the hell off!

It's someone who doesn't have a job, so they have all the time in the world. Most of us aren't that lucky. We have to work for a living.

I've never given it any thought. I don't spend my time worrying about what other people are shooting-it's none of my business. I don't know where you're from, but we actually don't have all that much public land in Dutchess. And, quite frankly, it's none of your damned business where I hunt. Here's an idea-you worry about you, and I'll worry about me. You butt into my affairs, and we have a serious problem. Respect my space, I respect yours-it's very simple.

I live in 3F. Deer are NOT what we need more of. I actually do a delivery route at 3 A.M. every morning. On average, I almost hit 4-5 deer a night. There are actually a lot of deer in 3F. I'm actually going to try to take the vid camera with me tonight, to see if I can get some footage. Gotta go to work.
