  1. I downloaded the list and was able to look up myself, coworkers, shooting and hunting buddies. Although this is public record, the compliation and posting to the web is done specifically to create victims out of legal, respectible, license holders and pistol owners. The motive is evil, and completely unrespectible. Clamp
  2. I only bring it up so that those (like myself earlier today) who may be unaware of the regluation take the needed steps/precautions. Being informed is important in this day and age of over-regulation.
  3. Hey.. I was looking around the DECs web site today and came across this: http://www.dec.ny.gov/animals/7197.html It seems to indicate that feeding deer is now illegal. Most of us are probably using some sort of feed to get game animals in front of our cameras... beware, the fines and jail time can get hefty. Clamp
  4. here it is.. http://www.midwayusa.com/Promotion/default.aspx?promotionid=372661&eblastid=81620102&custnum=101172939&utm_source=BIGimage&utm_medium=eblast81620102 Midway has these on sale.. they are big scopes (long), and can be kinda heavy, but i think these are well worth the price. I have never seen the mil dot (although I want one). the regular reticle is fantastic on my winchester 43 chambered for .218 bee (my go to rifle for scouting and varmit shooting).
  5. I got my hands on a bow/rifle/camera mount in march.. and I have been trying to film some hunting.. but i never can seem to get a shot when the weather is good enough to take the camera.. we will try again this fall.
  6. Dont be ashamed of that video at all.. that is fantastic.. excellent work!
  7. OK.. Now that the McDonald case is settled, it is time for us handgun owners to figure out what it means for NY. The fact that there is a geographic difference in licensing requirments, process and enforcment is counter to the concept of the 2nd amendment being incorporated into the states. Unfortunately, the way it is today WILL NOT change until it is challenged in a court of law. Todays process is arbitrary and caprecious, which is speficially outlawed (even by our penal code here in NYS). I advise everyone with a restricted carry permit to review section 400 of the NYS penal code and find all the areas of conflict. Only we can change it. To think that our elected officials will allow the right that the supreme court just incorporated is silly. They need to be forced. Just look at what Mayor Daly did since the McDonald decision.
  8. The shirts are a touch crass, but hey, they (the feds) dont seem to have a problem sticking it to the citizens of this great nation.. so I say, stick em right back.
  9. I get a mag called NY game and fish.. I really like it. It is specific to NY and gives alot of good write ups about state land.. its cheap and worth it.. check it out. http://www.newyorkgameandfish.com/
  10. One scope I have had really good luck with is the Simmons whitetail classic.. it can be obtained in either standard, or mil-dot.. I have a 6.5x-20x mounted on my .218 bee.. and it has proven to be well worth the $130 (after shipping) midway has them on sale all the time. worth a look.
  11. I turkey hunted with a partner this spring, and we used our cell phone to text.. it turns out to be alot quieter than two way radios... i little slower though.
  12. I am a software engineer with a small insurance company.. I do alot of edi work too.
  13. I reload just about everything I shoot, for all the reasons stated above. I reload, .218bee (which I love, and factory ammo is unafordable). .308, 7.62x39, 9mm, .357/38.. as well as 12 and 20 gauge for both hunting and skeet/sporting clays. Good book, Hornady reloading manual.. good powder: varget, AA1680 Good bullets: hornady vmax/amax/sst Good Press: Lee classic turret
  14. Thats a great point really.. I buy alot of guns.. and mostly i am a budget shopper, but when I shoulder a firearm, and it just fits right, it always ends up in my safe.. thats how i picked my skeet guns (CD 12g auto, and 20 g red label) and the savage, and a few others. The fit is the most important part.
  15. I looked at the tikkas when i was shopping for a bolt gun. I ended up getting a savage with a wood stock and a scope adn a sling.. and that thing is one accurate setup (.308)
