This topic can be compared to a Holy War. Example: Palestinians and Israelis. The issue will never be resolved. That's all I'll say. Oh and one last thing. I shoot 100gr Standard Slick Trick. Four blade broadhead. The best dam broadheads on the market. LMAO!!! Go hunt everyone. Enjoy...

This topic can be subjective. However, shot placement is everything. Any broadhead placed in the vitals will do it's job. Here are things I personally feel effect arrow penitration and guys do not realize it. 1. Your broadheads should be brand new or sharpened razor sharp. Many guys will practice with the same broadheads they shoot a deer with. After a few times into a target those broadheads become dull. This is a huge factor why guys do not get pass throughs. 2. Guys will shoot an arrow that is too light. If you want good penitration try and stick to a 400gr. arrow give or take 25gr. I know guys will play the whole speed vs. kenetic energy vs penitration... yada yada yada. If you have the time to BS about that stuff you're probably not hunting enough to have the experience about the topic to begin with. Place any arrow with a sharp broadhead in the vitals and you have a pass through.

Also, the moon was bright last night getting out of my stand. As we get closer to the November full-moon they claim mid-day movement will increase. Just a thought if you follow the Lunar/Moon scales. I like to use them as a reference.

I'm leaving for Ohio and I'm running last minute with every bit of the packing and planning process because I'm trying to get the last few days in before we leave. However, to keep it short with the most information possible I would say to try and get out in the woods this week as much as possible. I've been out this week and have to say the bucks are seeking the doe and at some points even chasing them a little. Yesterday the deer were moving all day. In fact, my buddy and I had more movement morning and mid-day than in the evening. I had a 2 and 1/2 year old 7 pointer 25 yards from me broadside for 15 to 20 minutes. He was watching a 6 pointer 40 yards away feeding. Doe were out traveling all day. We had a broken up 7 or 8 pointer bedding down 50 yards taking in the sun at 12:30. He got up and walked to his evening feeding area mid day around 1:00. My buddy passed a 90class 6 pointer at around 4:45. I had a mature doe being pushed around by a scrub buck with a massive body all mid-day. In my areas I have to say for the first time in many years I haven't had scrapes or rubs like I've seen before. Very few. Yet, I'm seeing a lot more activity in these areas. A guy I know reported yesterday getting down from his stands around 11:30 for lunch and as he got down from his stand he walked up on an 8 pointer and a doe walking on the exact trail where his stand was. He said he would have had a shot at the buck. A lot of Mid-Day activity. Pack some PBJ for lunch and stay in your stands. It's the first week of November. We wait all year for these two weeks. Don't get out of your stands. Halloween morning I shot that 8 pointer just following a little doe at 8:04am Nov. 2 a buddy of mine shot a 9 pointer in the morning. I know a lot of you are weekend hunters because of work/school. This year I have the opportunity to hunt a lot during the week and can report to everyone as much as possible. I'm sure once this weekend comes other hunters will have activity to report. I'll be in Ohio from the 11/5 to 11/9. Be safe and best of luck.

Ok, I saw the rack with my own eyes. It was a farm raised buck shot out of state. I heard the price tag was $8,000. That's the end of that mystery...

To all my dedicated NY hunters who help spread the word on activity levels day to day. Thumbs up to Geno C. who we probably have over 500 text messages to each other keeping each other informed as to what's going on in the field. It's working... I got into my stand at around 7:00am. I had movement from around 7:30 to about 8:00 which was just under some trees that were still holding leaves. At 8:03am I noticed the sound was getting closer and it was time for me to turn to my right to see what was happening. Well there he stood just walking along and keeping his eye on a little doe that was within his range. He continued to walk into my shooting range and that is when I released. The shot was just at around 20 yards broadside. He ran 40 yards in my view and looked to have lost his balance. Almost like he was drunk and passed out. It was a perfect morning with temps in the 30 degrees and wind under 5 mph in my face. I hope you enjoy the story and pics. My first Halloween buck.

Ok guy I had some chasing going on this evening. Location: Long Island 1C 4:45pm - Young buck came in at full throttle at a mature doe. The doe began to run in a circle around my stand at about 20 yards. She took off and he followed. 6:00pm - fawn feeding about 40 yards. Doe join them and begin feeding along side the fawn. I hear a very soft grunt and observe the young buck come pushing everyone around. I responded back with a soft grunt and he stopped and got curious. He continued pushing the doe around and at that time it got dark. The one thing I can't get out of my head/nose is how I could smell the musky smell of the buck. It was a very pronounced smell. I had the smell at 4:45 and at 6:00. The wind was also hitting me right in the face. I hope this field info. helps.

Anyone? I'm very curious. The closer I look at the pic on the lower left corner it seems altered. The guys boot looks missing.
