So opening day, first time deer hunting. I get to my spot in the woods around 6:30. Was waiting till "Legal" light. At 6:45 the shots start flying. by 7 it sounded like a re-enactment of gettysburg all around me. But yet all day I sat and never once saw or heard a deer in the spot I was hunting. It was a disappointing day.

Anyone got a used game cam cheap? I got a spot I am gonna hunt but no cam to put in there to see what I got, lots of tracks and runs though.

I have a Bersa Thunder .380 auto, love the gun. I carry it into the woods with me, don't expect it to stop a bear but if for some reason I had to put my shotgun down it will be there if I need it. I agree with the majority, 2 legged scumbags are more of a threat but if you wanna feel safe while hunting, .357 revolver with a 4" Barrel will do the trick. If you wanna make sure its dead get the S&W 500........that is the end all revolver.

Its not about being someones mother, its about protecting ourselves and others, do you know how much fuel it would give to them anti-gun groups if someone shot someone else hunting while drunk? Its about being responsible. I personally haven't touched a drop in almost 10 years. I can see having 1 at lunch or what have you, but if I have to help the guy get into his stand cause he had a few too many then that is a liitle much. Bottom line, we all need to act responsible and look out for 1 another

I would drop that bad boy right where he stands, this is my first year deer hunting, and first time hunting in 10yrs. Of course according to my family and friends I would get the fever and unload the gun into the ground and forget to pull up on the deer, we will have to see how it goes, I know I will be posting pics of whatever I do get

As far as the savage goes, I got the model 64, while the gun shoots straight, the clip is the biggest piece of junk ever made, 150rds through it and the base plate falls out, here comes the spring, follower and all the ammo, lost the plate all together, I have also since then read alot about it not loading right due to the clip hitting the bolt, It is now in a closet and will probably be staying there for awhile
