    Only prep work I've been doing so far is just shooting the bow as often as possible. I have some new stand locations picked out and will hopefully put up a couple stands this week then practice shooting from them. Haven't done much scouting yet but need to as oct 1st will be here before you know it.

    What part of Western NY are you in? I'm near Ithaca. If not too far i am interested.

    I was small game hunting in PA last Saturday and had an 8 point come within 20 yds that had a bloody nose. Figured it must have been from fighting. Wish i could see one like that when I'm in my stand.

    I passed on a spike last weekend that had a huge body but the spikes were only about 4 inches high. I thought it was odd but it maybe the same scenario as yours. Hopefully he makes it through this season and sticks around next year. Congrats on your kill btw. Still waiting for mine.

    For now I'm keepimg my extra broadheads in a plastic shot gun shell box but that just sits on the shelf. Will probably look into a better set-up to store them for the off season so i can still use the box for shells. I like the idea of just cutting a piece of foam to fit in a small box.

    I'm in 7R and calling for 1-2 inches in the higher elevations. Been snowing for a couple hours now but only a dusting on the grass.

    Been lurking around the site for a while now and finally decided it was time to join. A little about me; my name is Brian, I'm 25, grew up hunting in Pennsylvania and this is my second year hunting both NY and PA. This is my first year back into archery hunting since i was 13 and I'm loving it. Been seeing lots of deer, just none within shooting range that were worthy of taking home. This seems like a great site with a good group of people and a wealth of information. Hoping to learn more and make some friends along the way.
