The Charleston Church Shooting
Mr VJP replied to EspressoBuzz's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Racism and war are not political goals. They're the end result of hatred. Dividing the country along racial lines is a political goal. This kids actions are the end result of that division. Guns are not to blame for this travesty. -
Phade, you have no concept of self defense, liberty or freedom. Gun free zones = self defense free zones. You can choose not to carry, but you cannot tell others no to carry. And if that girl carried a .38, her purity would be intact and the rapist dead. Would you deny her the right to carry too?

Senate Passes Bill to Allow Moose Hunting in NY
Mr VJP replied to mike rossi's topic in General Hunting
NY State -
The pastor of the church, a S.C. State Senator and Democrat, was an anti-gun fanatic, who refused to allow any lawfully licensed people to carry a legal concealed firearm in the church, effectively making it a "gun free zone" which eliminates legal self defense. I think it is logical to assume if just one responsible person had a firearm on them in that church, many lives would have been saved. That is the politically incorrect reality the anti-gun leftists are going to ignore and shout down in the coming gun control debate. I would love to see this become the main issue in the debate. Gun control laws that disarm the responsible citizen, leave them defenseless against any possible threat that only an armed individual can repel. The police cannot possibly be everywhere all the time. And believing the elimination of guns in America will prevent this stuff has been proven wrong again and again.

Senate Passes Bill to Allow Moose Hunting in NY
Mr VJP replied to mike rossi's topic in General Hunting
The motive for moose hunting could be as simple as NY's desire to increase hunting opportunity and keep hunting licences from dropping any further. There is no reason NOT to have a moose season in the ADK region of NY. -
I hope everyone realizes the pastor of that church, who was also a S.C. State Senator, BANNED concealed carry in his church and made it a gun free zone. If one person there had a gun and could shoot back, many lives could have been saved. The pastor will never admit that though, because he's dead!

Responsible gun owners DO their part in preventing these things. We just don't believe it is the government's place to FORCE us to do something we feel may not be justified, and possibly even dangerous. There are no children in my home, but if one comes over, my firearms are secured. The law has no business telling me they need to be secured when no children are in my home. There are penalties in place for irresponsible gun owners that are the cause of a child's injury or death. Laws that try to "prevent" everything bad from happening are the realm of a Police State. The law will probably exempt law enforcement personnel, and they are often the one's who leave their loaded guns within reach of kids who have accidents.

There is an absolute desire, by supporters of Islam in America, to be able to point to violent events perpetrated by non-Muslims, as evidence there are more terrorists acts carried out by others. This leads to racist acts, such as this latest one, being desperately labelled as a terrorist act. The fallacy in this argument is in the ideology of the attacker. This kid was a racist that felt blacks were harming America and the white race. It was a racially motivated mass murder. There have been similar cases where blacks have attacked groups of whites, which are also not terrorists acts, but racially motivated ones. Radical Islamist terrorist attacks carried out on American soil, or even American friendly soil, against Americans and our friends, are always done with hatred of America in mind. Those radical Islamists want ALL Americans dead, not just certain ones, or certain races. Their attacks are against everyone and anyone they can kill. They do not target specific races, segments or genders of Americans in their attacks. And they do it to instill fear of Islam and use it to gain power. They are at war with America and are part of a huge group of radicals. It's organized and political. Terrorism's goal is to instill fear. Racism in America has no ability to instill fear in those it hates, it can only act out violently because of the hatred. What I expect to see coming in the near future is a government attempt to label this act "domestic terrorism" and couple that with a push for more control. The targets of that control will be American gun owners and anyone unfriendly to this administration's leftist, progressive agenda. The people Obama and the Left want labelled as "terrorists". It's a classic example of misdirection to achieve a goal, because there will not be a corresponding higher level of scrutiny of foreign terrorists. There will be a higher level of scrutiny turned inward on certain American citizens though. Ask yourself why the TSA spends the majority of it's time dealing with average people, when they could be profiling like the Israeli's do. They are much more effective in stopping terrorist threats and use far fewer agents to do it. Of course their agents are not just people picked up off the inner city streets that vote for Leftists and need jobs. I firmly believe this administration, as well as half of the US population, believes America is threatened more by some of it's own citizens, than it is by foreigners who want us all dead. -

Doves are considered game birds in most states. Dove and moose are both protected in NY State. -
In the introduction to the legislation, the bill’s author noted that in 2011 in New York, 60 children under the age of 18 were hospitalized with an accidental nonfatal gun injury. I would like to know the details of these facts, if they are even facts. What exactly were the specifics of these accidental shooting cases? How many were drug related? Gang related? Illegal gun cases? What were the actual ages of the so-called "children"? Were most of them 15 to 17 years old? Victims of drive by shootings? Inner city shootings? The point being, if there is a problem with 15 to 17 year old drug users and gang members in inner cities shooting each other, why are we putting a burden on all of the state's responsible gun owners because of it? It's a rhetorical question.

My concern is the time required to get them into action in an emergency, like a sudden home invasion with the front door getting kicked in. You could walk around the house with a sidearm "in use" even with kids around, but a long gun would take time to unlock. I read this law as saying even when no kids are in the home, they have to be locked as well. That's going too far as far as I'm concerned.

Why is it none of the people responsible for putting out these unethical, lying, deceptive reports ever gets fired? Maybe because they are pushing a gun control agenda and are paid by people who hate guns? http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2015/06/16/connecticuts-strict-gun-licensing-law-linked-to-steep-drop-in-homicides-not-really.html

Maybe we should all go to protest the proposed changes.

I really wouldn't care about the propaganda, if it wasn't such a threat to the average American's wallet! Until the entire world agrees climate change is scientifically proven to be caused by human beings, and ALL the world's countries decide to cooperate in making affordable changes, I do not think we should be the only one's sacrificing our economy until we also become a third world country.

Sam Colt went bankrupt once as well. The Paterson NJ factory was closed but a new design kept the company alive. Colt today is not making smart management decisions, but I think they will restructure and reorganize, keeping the company alive, or at least the company name and some of it's products. You'll still be able to buy a 1911 or an AR rifle if they fold, but it will just have a different name on it. Colt's best chance IMHO is to start making it's revolvers it's main product. That would include it's Single Action Army models too.
