Saw something just now about people questioning why he was shot if he was unarmed. Cuomo is defending the cop. I have to wonder if he would be if the convict wasn't a white guy.

The stock market dropped 350 points today. Not a good sign.

Would I get chastised if I changed my avatar to a picture of the Pyramids of Giza? They were built with slave labor. Would I be accused of being an anti-Semite? Are we going to demand they be torn down?

I don't see hunting deer with a .22 centerfire as a challenge. I see it as a better option for a hunter who cannot accurately shoot a rifle with more recoil. To me, that is it's only advantage.

The reason I asked, is because I wasn't aware there was a current made bolt gun that could easily swap a rifle barrel for a 28 ga. Very nice.

A small miss with an adequate deer round is also quite likely to produce a lost deer. Bullet placement is critical. But excellent bullet placement doesn't mean a thing if the bullet doesn't penetrate that spot.

Ammo may become the most pressing concern at that point!

I firmly believe the past use of varmint bullets in the .22-250 while deer hunting, is the main reason many people think it cannot effectively kill deer.

The V-Max is a Varmint bullet and should never be used to hunt deer. It cannot be relied on to give adequate penetration. I once took a deer that another man had shot with a .22-250 load for varmints. The deer lived 4 days with a blown up left shoulder before I killed it. It probably would have lived a lot longer too, because none of the vitals were damaged at all on that left shoulder side as the rib cage had no holes in it on that side.

I do not think it possible to change the mind of a confirmed liberal, leftist, or Progressive, no matter the amount of factual, historical, or logical information presented. Once they have adopted what they are told to think, they are closed minded and hostile to any other opinion. It's quite like a herd mentality.

If one uses a bullet like a Barnes TSX in the .22-250, it will expand fully and penetrate through the vitals. It may also exit the other side of the deer. It's solid copper with cuts to make it expand like an X. They perform very well on deer and equal the penetration of heavier lead bullets. Because a Barnes is all copper, it's lighter than a lead bullet, but it is longer than a lead bullet of equal weight. That's why a faster twist in the barrel is needed to stabilize it. The length of the bullet is the factor that requires a fast twist, not just the weight. These solid copper bullets have a higher BC (ballistic coefficient) than a shorter lead bullet of equal weight. Therefore the fly flatter (drop less) and make longer shots easier. They do produce the same energy as a lead bullet of equal weight when traveling at the same speed, but do have less energy than a lead bullet of equal length that weighs more moving at the same speed. It would be wise to study all the ballistics you can find for Barnes bullets from 53 gr on up, as well as other lead bullets of good deer hunting construction, like the Nosler Partition, and see which one offers the most favorable ballistics. When using a minimum caliber for deer, you need to put maximum research into the decision, prior to shooting a deer with it. Finding out a choice was a mistake after shooting a deer is not a good way to go.

The Barnes TSX 53gr would be the best choice, but the barrel needs a twist rate of 1-12" according to Barnes. A lot of 22-250 barrels are 1-14" twist. What is yours?

But the proper bullet is NOT that 53gr V-Max. You need a bullet that will penetrate to the deer's vitals. Look at bullets made specifically for deer hunting.

Only when capital murderers escape and resist arrest. The Liberals have made carrying out capital punishment more expensive than giving them life sentences. The amount of appeals and court proceedings required to carry out the sentence became so long, and so expensive, states that abolished the death penalty did so on monetary considerations alone. So, all of the costs incurred by taxpayers for these felons, be they executed or kept alive for 80 years, or escaped and sought at our expense for weeks, are the fault of bleeding heart liberals. They own it! Doesn't seem to bother them at all though. No matter how much any of their desires raise costs to taxpayers, they simply mouth the same mantra. Raise Taxes!
