I'm not a "gambler", however we go to foxwoods or AC maybe once every year (now with kids, we went once in the last three years). However, I'm more interested in the shows / entertainment / something else to do factor it brings to the table up in Sullivan County along with the jobs. -

Whats this weekend's rut activity / outlook look like? Last weekend I had my wife's birthday, the weekend before that was my daughters baptism... The weekend before (Oct 12th) that I saw bucks making scrapes and very light chasing. I can't wait to get back in my stand, hoping that at least some chasing and movement is going on. Not sure how accurate any of this prediction stuff is, but this coming weekend from past experiences (right around Halloween) is always a great time to be in the woods.

That is true, a lot of people forget about it and don't even know the rule to begin. A legally antlered deer must have at least one antler that is three inches or longer measured from the base of the burr. Now you can tag that as a doe / antlerless deer IF you have a proper tag.

I think the wallhanger / trophy argument is a common misconception of AR's. AR's move most of the pressure to 2.5 year and older bucks. If that was the purpose of AR's then they would have made it 4 points on each side. Then again, I guess it depends on your definition of a wallhanger...

My old man is praying for it up in Sullivan County where he lives. The old concord property seems to be in the lead as far as getting the deal if it went through from what I heard.

Actually points based AR has made a statistical difference. The goal of AR's was to protect the 1.5's, and its done just that. The percentage of yearling bucks taken in AR zones is below 20% down from ~65% and age of the bucks taken in these Zones are 2.5 or greater.
