  2. 400 isnt cheap, its a good price, but not cheap and if the quality is not right then you have every right to get it fixed to perfection.
  3. They are back http://blogs.phillymag.com/the_philly_post/2012/11/06/black-panther-philadelphia-polling-place-201/
  4. Thanks WNY - Further problems will be perm bans. We all don't have time for this crap.
  5. Same here, voted @ 6:10. Hopefully we will be saying our goodbyes soon.
  6. At least this stump is now gone as of an hour ago. I now.how to worry about fixing my sidewalk and walkway. I.posted in that other thread this tree came down during the storm and fell away from the house thank god. I cut it up and then the huge stump popped back up into the hole. Had to get someone with some equipment to get rid of it. Took me a few days of calling some Craigslist Ads and found a guy with a good price. Still no power ;( but that stump is gone! Going to start looking for some good concrete guys. Sent from my DROID RAZR
  7. Nope "abutting property owners are responsible for the repair and maintenance of sidewalks, curbs, and trees along the roadway"
  8. Still no power for me here... Its not bad with the generator except when its time to get gas.
  9. Let us know if we can do anything to help. Perhaps start a donation account. Sent from my DROID RAZR
  10. I was able to find a guy (well its no guarantee till he shows up at my door) that is coming with a dump truck and a machine to yank the stump. Called at least 30 people, either they are not doing stumps this month or they are trying to charge an arm and a leg. This guy was reasonable and available to come this afternoon. But again, nothing is solid till he is here yanking it out. Still now power in the neighborhood.
  11. Aye, no power still. But... I have a generator, internet, TV, heat, and beer! Spent the whole day cutting this mess up with my father-in-law. Still have to hire someone to grind that stump / cut the bottom. It popped back up into place once I cut about 5 ft from the rootball... Then see about fixing my sidewalk and walkway.
  12. I'm going to disable it soon anyways, i think most members have seen it.
  13. It by the time I got to the end of cutting it actually shot back up and stood up Took me 7 hrs to cut this thing up. Going to have to pay someone to grind it down or something, still left ~5 ft of it. I'm shot. Still no power, but apparently no one else on the island has power either, except my office which is open tomorrow BTW waited 30 min to get gas today after spending about 30 min finding a station open, seems the stations that have power ran out of gas or are really low. Just trying to keep my generator running for the wifey and baby. Actually runs really good, 12 hours on a tank full. Not bad for a $200 generator (was a return / used item @ Lowes I picked up about 3 years ago 1/2 off) Just have my two fridges, hot water, and a few other breakers on for minimal usage.
  14. Picked up a chainsaw @ lowes at 6AM. Man took me 20 min just to navigate down these side streets, tree's down all over. Just not sure how to cut up / what to do about the whole rootball that came up.
  15. I can certify this storm is the worst I can remember on LI from the wind damage to the flooding. My tree in the front yard uprooted and its a freaking mess, sidewalk is hosed, walkway and prob the driveway. Thank god it fell to the neighbors yard and smashed his fence (I can't stand him, 4 years ago his tree fell on my cars and didnt even offer a penny or say sorry). Soooo, I have the generator going, took me about an hour to find a gas station with power to refill the jugs. Power has been out since 5PM. Any LI guys have a good tree guy or a big chain saw? Seriously thinking of just running out to Depot/Sears int he AM if they are open and getting a good chainsaw. It would cost me 1/4 of what these tree guys will be raping the next 3 weeks for. What do you think? BTW on my ride out to find gas, it was crazy. Tree's down EVERYWHERE, no power, and creepy. I just checked the power company, over 1/2 of Long Island has no power (800k people).
  16. Wind picking up pretty good on the island. Sent from my DROID RAZR
  17. I think the biggest threat is going to be the flooding for those in the coastal areas. But yes, I heard on the news they are already prepping evacuation for those low lying and coastal parts of the island. I think the wind factor might be more of an issue for those in Westchester and up because of the trees. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
