  1. anyone interested in some old North American Hunting Club Books? shipped to your door free of charge...send me a PM and I’ll decide who gets them, probably a little dated and not the best info, but good reading none the less, a few cookbooks in the lot.F96E17FD-DDEE-447D-8A14-19E0D340FC2A.jpeg.9bfee5a26cd9f2316de2f713be28d732.jpeg

But NY Environmental law doesn't have the same legal definition of what a loaded firearm is.

true...and I'm a little rusty on the Penal Law, but I don't believe possessing a loaded firearm in a vehicle is a stand alone violation according to the NYS Penal Law.

He's quoting the definition out of Penal law 265 as a stand alone law. It isn't

right, possession of a loaded firearm in a motor vehicle is a DEC law, not a Penal law.

It was a woods/field area. Some of the people that were ticketed that year tried to fight it, as we didnt have posted signs up. The judge told them that they were trespassing, posted signs or no posted signs, and handed them their fines. They didnt have lawyers, but why would you? The fines really arent that steep anyway.

We had never kicked them off previously, no warnings, just called the Sheriff. The areas they were on had no noticeable "improvements" within eyeshot.

yes, people believe that LEO's and judges have to strictly stick to the law exactly how it's written....not always the case, that's why attorneys get to argue the facts and all that good stuff that goes along with it

Judges & officers don't know every law.     If you cite a law reference, the law sticks.     Someone cited the actual law, and you guys are still disagreeing with it.

You can disagree with it morally, and that's fine.    But the law is the law.

Just like if you carry a loaded magazine,  you'll be charged with carrying a loaded gun.  I morally disagree with that law, but it's the law, and a judge will stick you with carrying a loaded firearm, just because you left a loaded magazine in your truck after hunting.

    not always...

There are  medium tracts of Local land that have been hunted by Locals for Decades. One of these is near me in Bloomingrove. I have hunted that area since 1974. At 10.30am this morning in driving past on Tuthill Road-- 3 Trucks were parked and Deer hunters were out.  I had a Thread about this subject some time ago and Dirt Time and, I had a long exchange. Probably many hundreds of Locals - in the know--- have hunted it. OCFSCs used to release Pheasants on this Land off of Tuthill Road. It is probably around 300+ acres.

There are some parcels of land that the owners don't care about for one reason or another and hunting there would never be an issue, but it's still not right. I could never imagine just pulling up to a parcel of land and helping myself. I hunt State land and DEP property, and believe me those properties are well marked, so venturing off and then playing stupid wouldn't or shouldn't fly....maybe it's just me, but are there really people who think there is land out there that isn't owned by somebody?

Just split it 2 ways NYC and everyplace else .

NYC is the problem. The fact that ever big city in usa  goes blue every election tells you there is a problem there .  None of them are run right  or run good enough to justify that .

They have the biggest crime poverty and education problems in the country all created or made worse by democratic politicians and they are rewarded with even more power from it,  The city's have become 1 party rule there are know  true  free elections anymore there . So why should they have so much power over the rest of the state .

I think per capita, NYC ranks much better then a lot of other cities in NY when it comes to the issues you addressed.....except politics.

The guy was  really tiny nerdy looking that had it and the dog was like 200 pounds huge maybe it was a guard dog I'm thinking definitely not a service dog.

maybe the dog just looked big because it was next to a really tiny person??

Better wash your hands after putting all your groceries away too.  Grocery bags washed with towels will be fine if you put in enough bleach to kill all the bacteria from the bags.

I'm willing to bet used towels and the clothes you wore all day are just as full of bacteria as a grocery bag...probably more.

Ok here is a question if its illegal for a owner to ask about if its a  service dog what if someone just calls  the cops and let them ask ?  Is that illegal also?

call the cops to ask someone if their dog is a legitimate service dog??....lol.

Produce Belo, produce.  Not to mention what gets on the containers, which also gets on your hands, which gets injested if you don't wash you hands prior to touching the food, your lips, or even your eyes.  Without constant washing, those canvas bags are gross.  And unless they are strong enough to stand up to lots of washing, they won't last very long.  I can see lots of groceries hitting the parking lot pavement when the owner finds out they were worn out.

BTW, take out places will still be allowed to put your food in plastic bags.  Isn't that discrimination?

I hope you wash your produce before you eat it.....the bacteria and germs on anything you buy at the store from 20 people touching it with filthy hands before it gets to you is a lot worse then any bag could ever get on it.

  12. In Suffolk County the store keeps the 5 cent fee, it doesn't go to the State or the County......on a side note, I once had one of those plastic bags stuck in the top of one of my trees, it was there for about three years before it finally broke apart and blew away. The town I live in recently stopped taking glass with recyclables, they go in the regular trash or they have places you can bring it to and drop them off, and I certainly ain't doing that.....had a guy who would drive around on recyclable trash day and pick the bottles out and return them so at least someone was getting the 5 cent deposit, now that's not possible because they're in with the household trash.

Well you see it wasn't a big buck contest either. So the person that won didn't get the biggest buck but had the best year.  So again it wasn't about the biggest buck or most antlers.  It was about the best year.

who or what determines who had the best year??
