    There is a indoor shooting range between Goshen and Florida NY in Orange County. I don't know if they offer private shooting lessons but you could try them. You mat also try a local trap shooting range alot of the offer youth leages.

    Been bowhunting for over 40 years and have killed the vast majority of my buck from Nov. 7th thru the 14th.

    Thats twice that you have basically called people lairs on this thread. With out knowing how long a guy has been hunting, how many different guns he has own, how old he is or how many states he has hunted!!     I grew up on a farm 6 brothers and sisters. What we didn't raise for food we killed. Shot many a deer off the tractor doing farm work. Of course that was 45 years or so ago and times are different now.

    In 3K there last year there was only about 800 permit the same the year before. There are guy's out there that haven't got a permit in 3 or 4 years let alone a buck sence the antler restriction came in!! let me tell you the deer heard has not improved any!! From what I've seen it just added more pouching and jack lighting!! If it wasn't for the either sex tag that comes with the bow stamp I would have been meatlees the last 4 years!!

    Geez don't get your panties in such a bunch!!LOL It was meant to read just like wdswtr wrote it, and I'm sorry I wasn't clearer. Thanks for clearing up LI is not part of the city I thought anything south of the Harriman was the city. Somtimes we write and read more into things thats just not there. It's kind of like saying that ALL the city people come up hear and shoot ALL the bucks!! We know thats not true though they may get lucky and kill a few dumb ones!!

    You hit the nail right on the head!! The thing that bothers me the most is all the city people that move up here buy a little peice of there own heaven, post the crap out of the land, put up security cameras and then tresspass all over there neighbors lands!!

    If the NY Crossbow Coalition and NYB don't let out all the fact that's exactly the image the both give!!

    Thats just what these guy's would like you to believe, but there is a large percentage of rifle hunter out there that wouldn't like to see the crossbow in archery season!! In fact they would like to see no archery season at all!!

    I applaud both the Assembly and Senate for seeing that the crossbow is not archery equipment and there for does not belong in the regular archery season!!

    Thats funny I made a bunch of calls today and found that most people are not in favor the crossbow in bow season!!! I guess they are blowing smoke up both are back sides !!!! You know you guy's say NYB this NYB that but truth be told there are alot of rifle hunter out there that don't what the crossbow in archey in fact they don't like the fact that archers get first crack at our bucks!!
