  1. my dad could have had about 15 this morning, they were roosting 5 trees away from the tree he went up in his climber in.
  2. 2 friends have deer down. One 8 and one 9 today. Not allowed to hunt on school days so will let you guys know how Friday is!
  3. i've had literally 20 little birds around me for 2 hours jumping around in the leaves on the floor. It was the worst day in the woods i have has. Worse than missing my first opportunity at a buck. 1 hour into the buggers being around me i came up with the genius idea to shoot an arrow at them, they fly away! But what comes next, the same 20 birds for another hour or so. Untill i gave up.
  4. with ipad im pretty sure hold down the power button and while holding, press the home button. Thats how to take a screenshot on the ipod iphone
  5. This is the backpack i ended up buying, i really loved it in person. And it fits everything, plus more. Thanks you guys for all the suggestions http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/product/index.jsp?productId=23289936&ppp=37&cp=4406646.4413993.4414427.4414468
  6. i am definitely no expert but i did read somewhere that snort wheezing only works with a higher number of mature bucks. I may stay away just because i dont own the land and am not familiar with buck patterns, amount, and how they act. May try it once or twice
  7. wow. I may have to try them out in a few years with a new bow ,im not sure if it will come in contact with my cables because my fletchings, with the odd color out, only clear my cables by less than 1/4 of an inch.
  8. I think this is great, but i feel they may come in contact with my face, and you may be losing them and nocks when they pop off. What do you guys think? http://www.starrflight.com/
  9. i would probably be the same way, but my parents aren't into hunting. My dad slowly getting into it but it will never get to a point where he will drive me to ask permission to hunt land. When i mentioned that we should start finding a place to hunt before season he told me i have to mail letters hes not going driving all around town to talk to people. There's really nothing at this time i can do, but hope at least one of the few people who got letters in the mail from me say its okay. I don't even have a place to shoot my bow, we live in a fully developed neighborhood where shooting my bow isn't legal, and my parents "don't have time" to bring me to shoot.
  10. The land we hunt is slowly being taken over by animals and gardens. Im in panic mode finding places to hunt. Using our counties tax maps, i have a list of 8 places im stopping by with a letter for their mailboxes. And doubting any of them will say yes, i also am mailing out 11 letters to the landowners who don't have a residence on the land, or instead of a mailbox, they have a PO box. I really hope i get a place for my dad to bring me hunting within our town, for my dad isn't up for much driving.
  11. so what would your guys ideal property be? if you were to manage a farm, in any state, what state would you prefer? When i grow up i wish to live in New York but not with the laws they have now, somethings gotta change.
  12. Tried my best, even with my teenager computer skills, i couldn't get the resolution up much. Hard to tell, but nice bucks!
  13. Im youth, but im not participating. il use guns for small game, turkey, etc. I dont know what the fun of sitting 100 200 yards away shooting a deer is. Once a year i go on a trip with family for 2 days. Those will be the only 2 days of deer season il have a gun in hand.
  14. A friends got 50 acres bordering a campsite bordering a no hunting state preserve. The bears are all over! and the deer are giant! he let us hunt there once but i dont know how to hunt bear without baiting. Then after his wife found out no more hunting but i imaging the deer are giant there too! i may have to use my "cuteness" kid charm to convince his wife to let us hunt there. lol
  15. Hey cousin! Awesome! Yeah camp is always the best. look forward to it every year, glad dad took up the sport with me or i dont know what i would be doing all the time.
  16. What do you guys think this deer scores?
  17. I am in Warwick high school but i play roller hockey in Monroe. With my luck the Walmart in middle town is surprisingly low on outdoors equipment. I really like a thin rain and wind proof outer layer most season and i usually stack up on inner layers to keep warm. The only problem with that is the thin outer layer tends to make a large amount of noise against trees and other stuff.
  18. Yeah thanks for all the help guys! i am going to wait some time and see whats out there. I don't want to order anything because they may be too big waist belts and too small of packs. When the time and price is right il let you guys know my choice.
  19. Thanks alot. but the only thing with fanny packs is they don't really fit around my waist. And its hard to find descent sized youth ones
  20. How is the pack for quick access to calls etc from it hanging next to you in a tree?
  21. I'm in private land mostly from tree stands and with my bow. Also upstate but i use my camping pack for that. Just a nice day pack for the tree stand. Seems like the digital camo one from Walmart is a good deal?
  22. Very informative guys thanks! il be looking back at this later on once family problems are cleared up and my dads willing to bring me out to get set. i have been waiting for a month to get some new arrows and my peep sight raised ,my dad has "no time".
  23. Would a pack with a frame be too big for me? And as long as it gets the job done. What about the black, do deer spot it because its not camo? nice set of horns on that head!
  24. Il take a look. are there any brands i should look for or stay away from?
