  1. I have one backpack and its a giant camping one way too big for hunting. I am looking for a backpack able to hold all my calls, field dressing stuff, first aid, water, lunch, etc. A good sized DAY pack (im 5'8 14 years old). While staying within a teenagers budget of maybe 50 bucks give or take. Anyone have any recommendations? Thanks
  2. hahaah that's absolutely ridiculous!!
  3. Gander said slingshots are illegal. meanwhile while on my way into harbor freight tools a man walks out with a machete costing 4.99!
  4. Ok for some reason the link keeps sending you to a specific store. Just press on the stores tab up top

  6. Now just to let you know i wouldn't be able to do this because at this time i don't even have a place to hunt haha. I bet everyone's seen that picture on the internet of the sign over a corn pile saying "this pile is intended for squirrels and any deer caught feeding on it will be killed". Could you actually get away with baiting by doing that over food? Curious lol
  7. Well as a teenager im growing quick both my draw is too low and weight is little i could add more to make for better penetration and faster arrow speeds. Thanks for the advice. Would the bow shop be able to set you up with correct dimension arrows?
  8. Im sorry for asking so much questions, i have nobody to ask for my dad only got into bowhunting with me. I am 14 shooting a diamond razor edge. I have no D loop, i use a release, whisker buiscit, and used to pick up any random arrows from the stores. Im soon getting my bow adjusted to 50 or 55 draw wieght, and a rough guess of 26 draw length. Last season the last day of the hunt, my sight shattered. I use a 3 pin sight for 10 20 and 30 and a peep sight. What is a good sight you would recomend. Also what is a good grain, spine, and brand arrow for my setup. Lastly what do you think on switching to a cheap 40 dollar drop down sight instad of a whisker buscuit. Anything is appreciated.
  9. I had a huge tom come to me from across the property in literally a minute with that when all the turkeys were silent, but then again ive tried it this season and not a thing. I guess it wont hurt to try
  10. Thanks! and yeah! he hung around for honestly 10 minutes just chilling
  11. So today is my 4th day hunting this season. I have finally hit the jackpot on turkey and found where they are roosting and where they go. So finally i have a break and hopefully am going to get one down next time. But here comes the cool part. A young 4 point deer in velvet decided to hang around us for maybe 10 minutes, just eating and chuilling. keep in mind the video makes him look 10 yards away but he was actually 10 feet. I probably coulve reached out and poked him with the barrel. Most of the video didnt come out due to poor lighting but i cropped it and i got me waving at it. Hope you enjoy, me and my dad both agree this was one of the coolest things weve seen in the woods.
  12. Will do as im the only kid in my grade that listens to country music haha, thanks!
  13. you guys are so lucky. I know you have work and family. But i have to find a day my dads not working(3 jobs this time of year), when i have no tests or quizzes in the morning(on week days), and when my dads not out with other stuff. We take every chance we get as my dad doesnt really hunt without me we have been our 3 days so far and not a single gobble.
  14. Last year on the way home from my aunts house i saw the 2 biggest deer in my life, in a small field in annandale NJ. Bigger than my dads deer. Yesterday on my way to my aunts i checked the field and, its for sale. Its not a great place as theres no woods in between the field and the road. But if anyone is interested message me il give you the info.
  15. What do you think about soaking your diaphragm call in lets say cherry juice before storing it in the fridge. So next time in the woods you have a nice tasty treat in the woods
  16. We have gone turkey hunting 4 times so far this season, this is the only property that we turkey hunt on for the large amount of turkeys seen last year. This season so far we have seen like 8 hens. and 2 toms (could have been the same tom both times) and out of the 4 times, not a single gobble. Last year we took 3 turkeys and all came and responded to our calls. This morning and another morning (only 2 times we seen) right when we see hear the turkeys fly down there are multiple hens and one tom. Not a sound in the woods but crows owls and birds. I dont know what to do. But 2 days ago the land owner said he heard turkeys gobbling like crazy there at 5pm. Anything at this point will help. Either the turkeys are done mating, or they are doing so in the afternoon.
  17. Do turkey roost in the same trees everyday? During deer season i saw a huge flock fly down the same spot maybe 4 times. Havent had a chance to go up to that property, but opening morning what if i sat around there?
  18. i cant wait till the 20th! Ive been waiting for months!
  19. The gun is amazing. Had one for a while and never failed me. Perfect turkey gun! chambers in 3 1/2 too.
  20. Im intrested, let me do some research and il text you if i want to go through and buy it, is it still for sale?
  21. State Senator R.C. Soles (D - NC) Long time Anti-Gun Advocate State Senator R.C. Soles, 74, shot one of two intruders at his home just outside Tabor City , N.C. about 5 p.m. Sunday, the prosecutor fo r the politician's home county said. The intruder, Kyle Blackburn, was taken to a South Carolina hospital, but the injuries were not reported to be life-threatening, according to Rex Gore, district attorney for Columbus, Bladen and Brunswick counties.. The State Bureau of Investigation and Columbus County Sheriff's Department are investigating the shooting, Gore said. Soles, who was not arrested, declined to discuss the incident Sunday evening. "I am not in a position to talk to you," Soles said by telephone. "I'm right in the middle of an investigation." The Senator, who has made a career of being against gun ownership for the general public, didn't hesitate to defend himself with his own gun when he believed he was in immediate danger and he was the victim. In typical hypocritical liberal fashion, the "Do as I say and not as I do" Anti-Gun Activist Lawmaker picked up his gun and took action in what apparently was a self-defense shooting. Why hypocritical you may ask? It is because his long legislative record shows that the actions that he took to protect his family, his own response to a dangerous life threatening situation, are actions that he feels ordinary citizens should not have if they were faced with an identical situation. It has prompted some to ask if the Senator believes his life and personal safety is more valuable than yours or mine. But, this is to be expected from those who believe they can run our lives, raise our kids, and protect our families better than we can.
  22. i recieved this in an email from my grandpa but the animations were pretty awesome wouldnt post on here. Interesting slant on things AMERICA'S HUNTERS --- Pretty Amazing! The world's largest army... America 's hunters! I had never thought about this... A blogger added up the deer license sales in just a handfulof states and arrived at a striking conclusion: There were over 600,000 hunters this season in the state of Wisconsin .. Allow me to restate that number: 600,000 Over the last several months, Wisconsin's hunters became the eighth largest army in the world. More men under arms than in Iran . More than France and Germany combined. These men deployed to thewoods of a single American state, Wisconsin , to hunt with firearms, and no one was killed. That number pales in comparison to the 750,000 who hunted the woods of Pennsylvania and Michigan's 700,000 hunters, all of whom have now returned home safely. Toss in a quarter million hunters inWest Virginia and it literally establishes the fact that the hunters of those four states alone would comprise the largest army in the world. And then add in the total number of hunters in the other 46 states. It's millions more. The point? America will forever be safe from foreign invasion with that kind of home-grown firepower. Hunting... it's not just a way to fill the freezer. It's a matter of national security. That's why all enemies, foreign and domestic, want to see us disarmed. Food for thought, when next we consider gun control. Overall it's true, so if we disregard some assumptions that hunters don't possess the same skills as soldiers, the question would still remain... What army of 2 million would want to face 30, 40, 50 million armed citizens??? (IF YOU AGREE, AS I DO, PASS IT ON, I FEEL GOOD THAT I HAVE AN ARMY OF MILLIONS WHO WOULD PROTECT OUR LAND AND I SURE DON'T WANT THE GOVERNMENT TAKING CONTROL OF THE POSSESSION OF FIREARMS) For the sake of our freedom, don'tever allow gun control or confiscation of guns."IN GOD WE TRUST" "Auggie &Joann"
