Hey guys I am looking to see if anyone has done any scouting at sterling state forest? I plan to go up there for opening day bow however I am ashamed to say I haven't had time to get up there to scout this year. Anyone else going to public land for opening day? This is my first year bow hunting and I remember what its like opening day rifle! Should I expect the same crazy crowds and get there at the break of dawn? Thanks a lot guys

yea I plan to hit the archery range every day until the season opens. I am so exited its not even funny. I cannot wait to get back in the woods!

man I wish I had time for a hunt this weekend but I have to work. Then headed upstate to hunt public lands for a few days. Guess we will see how it goes! -

interesting point I have been hearing that about geese, deer, squirrel etc Also remember we did go through a major storm this year. Hope to god it didn't effect the wild life. I doubt it did. OR MAYBE ITS GLOBAL WARMING COOKING ALL MY VENECIN!!!!

hunted timber point on sat. Had a great time however we did not see or hear a single goose! DEf be back out next weekend!

lol thanks man that is really nice of you! I have been working so hard to be able to get everything together for the hunt and afford everything I needed. Finally after visiting multiple gun stores that all said they had the choke and didn't. I finally found it an hour away from home! So exited thanks if it wasn't for this post I would not have been going goose hunting tomorrow! You guys rock seriously thanks again!

you need last years hunting license this years stamp and a land access permit. As well as the parking permit. Now all I need is a duck gun! or a modified imp cyl choke for my 835 Mossberg so I can shoot steel shot through it

that's what I was thinking I didn't know a turkey barrel could shoot steel shot. So I gotta find an improved cylinder choke for an 835 barrel. Is that common or easy find? I will call around today. Thanks again waterweasel

I should have inspected the gun it was old and I didn't know enough about waterfowl before trying to jump in last min. I will do my research for next season and make sure my equipment is in check. I didn't do me homework and now I am paying for it!

turns out I have a Mossberg model 835 ulti mag....FTW I sold my 500 not my 835! So if I want to go duck hunting on sat what the hell do I do now?
