    Just set up in the stand waiting on sunrise. Planned all day sits today and tomorrow to wrap up the last weekend of gun. Good luck to all still out there.

    I had one lay down next to its mother after I shot her,. Stood there until I climbed out of my tree and walked towards them. Then he walked back a couple of times before finally taking off after I threw a stick at him. Nothing against guys that do, but I won't shoot a doe with a fawn after that. I know the fawn can survive, but I just felt like crap inside.

    So sorry to hear. Happy travels over the Rainbow Bridge Remi. Feb 1 will be 3 yrs for my little buddy Colby and still miss him dearly. Got him as a puppy at 2 months old and he was 16 yrs and 3 months old when we had to put him down. It was such a hard decision but the right one for him. Never had the heart or ability to replace him...I just couldn't. They truly are family.

    Rain stopped in 8F, out today until about noon and not back to work until Monday. Happy Thanksgiving everyone and good luck to all out.

    32 degrees with highs about 48 and just a light breeze. Packed in for an all day sit with 5 canisters of doe in estrous hung around me. It just feels right today! Good luck all.

    Was able to get out of work early today and in my stand by 1:00. On my way in bumped 3 bedded down by the creek about 60 yards from my stand. Dont know what they were just saw flashes of tail as they took off. After today a nice 3 day weekend to hunt Fri, Sat, & Sun. Good luck all

    In the stand and packed in for an all day sit. Last 2 days out of the game helping a friend staying at my house after carpel tunnel surgery. She's doing better and I'm back out here. Nice cool morning to start the day finally. Good luck all

    4 doe came browsing through at about 9:45 and bedded down about 70yards from stand. Still bedded there so hopefully one of the big boys will cruise through to check them out.

    Packed in for another all day sit on stand but these warm temps arent helping with the deer action. Yesterday the last deer I saw was at 7:15...made for a long sit until quitting time. Was at least entertained by a flock of turkeys for awhile at about 1:00. Good luck all out today.

    Doe with fawn being trailed by grunting 4Pt. About 15 minutes later passed on medium 6Pt coming from opposite direction nose to the ground. No big boys playing yet today

    Set up in the stand, wind slowing down somewhat. Today starts my huntcation...not back to work until 11/10. Good luck all.

    Up in the stand, windier than I hoped for but will be sitting until noon and tapping out for a stag party. Good luck all

    Just passed on 15yd shot at a nice (guessing 3.5 yr old) 8Pt cruising through nose to the ground. Trying to wait on one of my 2 target bucks or a nice 10Pt...for now anyways. So far that's the only deer seen since the deer that came by in the dark.

    Good to be back out here. Haven't been out or even on the site since last weekend's neighbor mess.Just was pissed and frustrated. Wont fill up the Live From the Woods with it, but I will vent in another post for suggestions and to vent when I have time. Anyways good luck all out and congrats to all the harvests. So far I already had a lone deer wander by the stand in the dark and just had another lone deer walking along the creek in the dark. Hunt safe, hunt hard, hunt ethically, and mostly have fun

    Somebody flipped on the rut switch. Already seen 3 bucks this morning. A nice 2.5 yr old 6pt as wide as his ears and tall Then a group of 3 doe being chased by a shooter 8. Chasing back and forth and grunting trailing 2 of them into the pines. Then after that a little 6pt along the creek nose to the ground circling back and forth all over. Plus a doe by herself earlier. Glad I packed in for my first all day sit of the season. Good luck all. Great time to be in the woods.

    Up and in the stand...knew they were calling for a breezy morning but wasn't expecting the rain in 8F....stopped now so we'll see if it stays dry rest of the day. Good luck all

    I have a spot that I dont really hit until the rut is kicking in, so ususlly not until Oct 31 and then I usually have the first week of Nov off work....so today I'm sitting this stand for the morning then going to juice up my mock scrape dripper, check trail cams back here, and get out of the area. After that, won't be back here until 10/31. Good luck all

    Just had group of 4 doe come by...2 doe and 2 fawns, about 18 yds. Holding out for a buck during bow. Hopefully my #1 or my #2; come by offering a perfect quartering away shot at 18 yds like the lead doe did.

    Been settled in the stand for about 25 minutes and just had a couple deer walk right by the stand. Too dark still to see what they were but guessing the doe & fawn duo ive been seeing a lot. Hopefully it's a good sign of more activity to come after sunrise.

    Finally saw my 1st buck of the season. This little guy got a pass at about 10yds.

    Out again finally! Havent been out since last Sunday and the way this last week of work was....feels great and so need this! Doe with 2 fawns were bedded less than 10 yds from my trail walking in...they're eyes lit up in the flashlight. Almost made it completely past them on my way before they bolted out of there.
