Utica is not too far away, less than an hour.  Maybe my wife would like a few hours at Turning Stone.

I was at the Utica bass pro a couple weeks ago and did see they had some of the wooltimate clothing in stock however i didn't look at the sizes. Im about 15-20 minutes away and to me the Utica one is lackluster compared to some of the other ones I've been to.

  2. Id only be using it for rifle if i were to go ahead and try it. If i do it i will be tucking it in the best i can otherwise I'm sure they'd bust me every time. I'd also like to get one with a blind around the rails for extra cover.

  3. Does anyone hunt out of a tripod stand and how do you like it? Theres a spot on the piece of land i hunt where theres no trees to hang a regular stand in and I've been considering trying out a tripod possibly next season. The spot I'm wanting to hunt is three fields of goldenrod separated with hedgerows. I feel like a tripod might stick out like a sore thumb to a deer but maybe someone who uses one can chime in?

  4. We cut ours up within 1-3 days max. I shot a doe Thursday morning and we processed it that night just because we're up north hunting this weekend and didn't want to let it hang. I don't have anything against letting them hang and age if the weather permits, but its just not how I've done it.

  5. This guys videos are great and i believe he's from Poland, Ny which is not too far from where my camp is. If anyone is interested in videos of the big woods like this, another good channel on youtube is ADKTRACKER. They hunt somewhere in northern Herkimer county and get some slobs every year it seems. Some of my favorite hunting content on youtube.

I've never heard of them.  But in the last year, the only hunting show I've watched is The Hunting Public.

I've watched a majority of their videos on youtube the past couple months. Their stuff is better than any hunting show on TV by a long shot.

Unless it’s a 2018...they are known for oil consumption issues. First time Ford truck owner here (bought it because of the aluminum body hopefully not rusting) and I hate how the 10speed tranny shifts and the oil consumption issue. Hoping it gets rectified under warranty soon.

Yup, this is what i was talking about. Ive had many people tell me their dealer said its completely normal for them to do that which to me is complete BS. Ive also heard that fords "fix" was them putting a longer dipstick in so it will show more oil being in the pan, but I'm not sure if thats true or not.

  8. I don't think you can go wrong with any of them really, however i have heard of the newer ford 5.0s burning 2 quarts of oil between oil changes. I drive an older chevy diesel from right before they started getting crazy with the emissions, but am thinking about getting a ram next and possibly going back to gas. I don't like being at camp when its below zero and wondering if the truck is going to gel up the next morning or not.

Out of curiosity, where were you? You can PM me if you’d rather. I see more and more people in the adk’s every year. But most of it still seems to be closer to the towns and city’s.

I actually noticed the general area where we both are seemed to be a bit busier too. Not packed by any means, but saw some large groups of people getting ready for drives and full camps that i haven't seen full in years.

  10. Bass Pro has these on sale for $269 in either 9 or 40. I had a few gift cards from Christmas that i hadn't used yet so i ordered one in 9mm. I figured i can't go wrong for that price, especially after reading and watching the reviews on them. My local Bass Pro in Utica sold out of them quick and said they'll be getting more in about a week. Im just wondering who else has one of these and how do you like it? I plan to carry it and will be in the market for a good holster, preferably inner waste band.

I’ve met Joe in the woods and at a few seminars and other Adirondack gatherings. As nice of a guy as you’ll ever meet!

  12. Im shooting 200 grains of pyrodex pellets behind a 250 grain hornady SST sabot out of my Rem ultimate ML. The reason being it shoots noticeably better with 200 grains of powder vs 150 or less. I haven't gotten to experiment with different powder/bullets as i had hoped to, but i did buy some blackhorn 209 and plan on working up a load in the future.

  13. I've had a Bushnell Aggressor wireless trail cam new in the box for a while now and just recently got the chance to get it out and mess with it. I went out and bought a new 16gb HD SD card for it and set it up. During the set up you must enter your number and it locates your phone by GPS. After it locates the phone it takes a test image and sends it directly to the phone in about 30 seconds. That all works out great, but then when i switch it to live mode, it doesn't send photos or do anything. I pulled the SD card from the cam and stuck it in my computer and it is in fact taking pictures, but its not sending them to my phone. Anyone have a cam or had a similar issue?

  14. Last year i took my truck to a guy with a body shop and had him rhino line the bottom of the truck about 6" up the body. He color matched the rhino liner and it came out perfect. I also use an anti corrosion product called fluid film on the frames of my trucks and that seems to work very well.

  15. A couple months ago i was gifted a wireless Bushnell Aggressor trail cam. I want to put it out soon, but before i do i want to get a lock box. Ive done a little research on these but want to know what you guys use or what you think is best. My main reasons for wanting a box is to keep the cam out of the elements and to prevent it from getting stolen. It will be placed on private land but I've had different things come up missing before. Also does anyone have this camera? If so how do you like it?
