I don't mind paying taxes, if I am paying taxes, I'm making money. I don't care what you use hunting as long as it is legal i don't understand the contradiction adn circular logic - "as long as it is legal" - i thought your complaining about freedom from legal restrictions ?

I'm sorry , are your shoes getting to tight.

The answer to that is one word "GREED". Hunting is going by way of todays world. I have mine and tough luck if you don"t have yours. Most people today are selfish could care less about what others feel or think, it's my way and that it. I am sorry if this upsets some people, but if the shoe fits, wear it. No.#1, We have people who want antler restriction and would like to see it through out the whole state. Then we have people who want it to be voluntary AR and shoot any legal buck (3 in. of antler or better). In the first group who want (AR) , are people most likely to have the time , money and private land to hunt the way, they want to hunt and they could less about their neighbor, other than thay might shot to small of a deer. They don't care less that their neighbor, who may have less land ,money and time to hunt, because they need to work to pay their bills and put food on their table, they can not afford to take the time off to hunt.the neighbor may only get out to hunt one day a week or two days if he is lucky. So when it come to (AR) let's think of others and not just our selfs. I have 1400 acres to hunt and the time, plus the money to do whatever I want, just to let you know. Some of you are thinking that you have worked hard to have what you have, so you deserve to have it your way. While don't let this shockyou, but your neighbor also worked hard for what he has, and maybe he is not as lucky as you. No.#2 , Now we have the bowhunter and the people who want to hunt with a crossbow in bow season. The bowhunter will tell them,(NO WAY) not in my season and not my deer.A lot of people who want (AR) are the same people who don't want crossbow hunting in their season. Let me tell you something, it is not your season and the deer do not belong to you. The season and the deer belong to the people of New York. The bowhunter is so afraid that someone will get a deer with a crossbow that they want and will do anything to stop crossbow hunting. If this is not GREED by the bowhunters, then I don't know what to call it. Our forefathers came here 220 years ago to get away from some of the very same restrictions, that others want today. (NO HUNTING ON THE KINGS LAND and DO ONLY WHAT THE KING TELLS YOU and WANTS YOU TO DO). Today I look around and see us coming back full circle to where it started and it has me worried. Those of you who think this can not happen had better stop and look around as you read this because it is happing every day. This may not happen to you personally, but it can happen to your children and are you that selfish to let it happen to them.

Antler Restrictions - What are your thoughts?
noodle one replied to TheHunter's topic in Deer Hunting
I am strictly a trophy hunter and the club I belong to feels same way, we protect our herd closely. If someone kills a deer that is not up to our standards, that person is put out of the club. All deer must have ears that are (3) three ins. or better. So if you come on our club grounds, you better watch and make sure you follow our standards.- 1885 replies

Rocker and celebrity hunter Ted Nugent will have to pay a $1,750 fine after pleading no contest in Calif to baiting a deer and not having a properly signed tag. Nugent was seen killing a immature buck on a February episode of his Outdoor Channel TV show " Spirit of the Wild". Ivestigators found that the deer had been eating bait called "C'mere Deer." Baiting wildlife is illegal in Calif.

Baking Soda, hunting and kidney Stones
noodle one replied to noodle one's topic in General Chit Chat
sweet old bill, That is a hard question to answer. I have to drink a lot of water to keep the stone from growing. I also drink cranberry juice and lemonade as they both are good for helping to break down stones. I don't take to much baking soda, because to much of it can cause high blood pressure, and I don't need that. If it breaks down slowly, I won't feel it passing. I will know more in three months when I see the doc. again for another ultrasound to check the size. As far as blasting it, that won't happen unless it moves and I can not pass it. -
Baking Soda, hunting and kidney Stones
noodle one replied to noodle one's topic in General Chit Chat
Gono C, No I have not passed the stone. The doctor said it would take time and I have only been drinking it for a couple of day now. Baking soda is great for covering up and eliminate human odor. I use it all the time in the deer woods. -
For years I have used baking soda to help eliminate human odor while deer hunting. I put it all over myself and in my hair and have found that it works great. Most people know that baking soda has many uses. My doctor told me of one use that I never knew. Let me give you a little history, I have gout, everyone in my family has it and it can be hell. Gout comes from to much uric acid in the body. Uric acid can also cause kidney stones. I have had many kidney stones and always been lucky to pass them with little or no problems, until last month. I had to have emergency surgery to remove a large stone from my left kidney that I could not pass. (4 and one half X 1/2") . The doctor had to go in and blast it. The doctor told me that the stone was made up of mostly uric acid. This week I had a follow up with the surgeon and he told me that my left kidney was clear of kidney stones, but I have one in my right kidney. Both he and the kidney doctor told me to drink a lot of water, Bottled water. I have well water at home. I was told that well water is not good for people with kidney stones unless it is filtered through a charcoal filter. The surgeon told me that by drinking a lot of water the stone would not grow, he also told me that one thing that will break down a kidney stone made up with uric acid is baking soda. He told me that he drank some himself to see how it would taste and he said it taste awful, but if I could handle it, to drink one tsp in 10 to 12 oz. of water in the morning and evening and it would take time, but it would break down the stone so I could pass it. This is only for people with high uric acid. I must worn you that if you try this that the first time you do, you want to be able to stay home because, it will clean you out like you have never been cleaned out before. I may have used to much baking soda the first time. I hope that this helps, because it has been over a month and I am just starting to feel good from the surgery.

Has anyone been doing any fishing in the the west branch and are you catching any trout. I am recovering from surgery for the last month and have not been able to get out and would like to know how the fishing is.

On my way home this evening I had the the good luck to see a hen with her brood of chicks. She was standing along side the road with 10 to 12 chicks. The chicks couldn't have been more than 2 or 3 days old. I hope they make it with all the rain we have been having.

;D I am happy to find that NY Hunting Forums are up and running again. I was a member with the Empirehunting forums. When that site went down, I felt like I had lost a friend and I see a lot of the same people are on here. We as New York sportmens need to be working together and this forum helps us to do that. I know we all don't agree on some of the forums, but we need to support each other and not put people down for thier thinking. We need to work together to make this the best forum for all New York sportsmen. From Broome Co. I want to say Hi to all. , noodle one
