  1. The squirrels are having a ball today. So much noise Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Had minimal activity today in 9h. 6 pt came flying through a little while ago I couldn't get him to react to grunts. Is it to early for estrus can? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Lol good one. I hunt Attica, Lancaster, cowlesville and farmersville. Haven't seen not one on me after hunting Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. What area? I haven't seen any this year so far. Keeping my fingers crossed too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I had two misses earlier this season and a couple guys on this thread gave me some tips and it turned out to be great advice. I was shooting high both times and I wasn't bending at the hips. Instead I was lowering my arm and it threw the shots out of whack. Not saying that's your issue but after paying more attention to the mechanics and trying as much as possible to put the adrenaline aside I nailed the same deer two days later. The attention to proper form helped the most for me. It should for you too especially if your already a good shooter Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Taking a break from the woods to get a sun tan [emoji41]. Too hot today lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I had this exact situation happen last year where it wasn't pass through and I had very little blood. The tip about putting flags in the ground or some kind of markers is a good one. When you have several points of reference you can narrow down direction. Good luck man I've been there! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Hunting public lands will test a guy's patience. Pheasant hunters out and about and they literally could not be any louder. It's not the gunshots that bother me it's the group of 5 guys that are talking so loudly that I can hear them from over 400 yards away!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Is anybody out there today?? I would assume no with downpours and 30mph winds...!!yikes!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Man it had been dead silent since that 8pt flew by here this morning. Tough sit today Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. A big wide 8 came flying by minutes ago. He seemed spooked. Never slowed down for a shot Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Live from the stands....try live from the gas station and Walmart. The Wifey left me no gas in the truck [emoji38] and Walmart for a replacement release. Not sure where it went to. Oh well. Still not backing down and gonna head in and see which deer out there wants to investigate what smells like gas [emoji106]???? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. So bad pictures I know but I got my first doe with a bow right before sundown last night and it was too dark by the time I got packed up found the blood trail and found her. The story goes... Wednesday night I had a shot at this doe and missed TWICE due to some poor mechanics on my part. I actually got some advice from some experienced bow hunters on this site and determined I wasn't bending at the waist and was lowering my arm instead resulting in higher shots. I gave it another go last night and just before sundown like clockwork she came out of the high grass into the hardwoods with the two other smaller does she's been with every time I saw her. The only difference is this time is she didn't give me as easy a shot opportunity at 20-25 yards. She was approx 35-40 yards away this time which is still in my comfort zone so I focused on the mechanics and waiting for the right opening and took the shot. She went down on all fours instantly and the got up and ran up the hill(15 yards) back into the high grass. I waited about 20-30 mins and packed up and set out on the trail. She only made it into the grass about 5 yards in....BONUS!
  14. Well guys I appreciate all of your input! I went back today and got the same doe I missed Wednesday. The problem was I pulled my arm down instead of bent at the waist. I was on point all summer but never practiced in the stand. I made it a point to bend at the waist and aim like I normally would and made a 35 yard shot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Well I stuck it out through the monsoon in 9H and got that doe I missed Wednesday night. I'll post the pics in the harvest thread soon. Waaaay to dark for a photo in the woods lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. This weather stinks for an afternoon sit. Warm wet and windy Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. She definitely didn't wind me she walked off casually after the two "incidents". I think it was doe fever. I've never gotten doe fever before but maybe that was it. Lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I'm pretty sure I brought my arm down instead of bending at the waist. I've been at the range throughout the summer and right before the season started and was hitting well. I didn't practice with the Treestand though. Maybe that's the ticket Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Yesterday I missed the same doe twice! What do some of you experienced hunters say about going back and trying the same spot today? Each arrow went high over her and it spooked her but she never ran away. She moved about 10-15 yards each shot but eventually made her way out of the area through the thick stuff. I don't think it was a "pressure" situation so I was thinking of going back again today to try again Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. First, I'm set up on that trail because it's a travel corridor between two bedding areas and the winds were perfect and I've seen deer every time I've been there. Second, those a$$holes were actual talking and laughing about how they were probably ruining someone's hunt. So public land or not it takes a special kind of douchebag to go out and purposely take those trails when the area is marked "cooperative hunting area" all over the place. So I definitely think I've got a reason to be a little mad about it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. No it's a trail through a piece of public land. The cyclists just add to an already messed up day. I slept through my alarm this morning, forgot my lunch, forgot the grunt tube. Missed a doe broadside at 25 yards. And then those guys. Gonna need a cold one later Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. And now these guys.....great Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Just missed a big doe. Damn! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Dead silence out here in rushford. No squirrels either just silence Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Doe in the morning at 89 yards never got close but hung around. Then a small 4 pt ran right underneath me. Wish he'd been a big one Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
