  1. Hi Guys, I have the jacket and pant combo for sale in Vertigo Grey. Both items are in good condition especially the coat. I had a problem with the original zipper on the old coat and scent lok sent me a brand new one late last season so the jacket was worn ONCE last year. The camo is excellent in tree stands, very quiet and helps suppress scent also. WIN WIN Here are some links with product info http://www.gandermountain.com/modperl/product/details.cgi?pdesc=Scent-Lok-Mens-Head-Hunter-Storm-Jacket&i=701055&r=view&cvsfa=2586&cvsfe=2&cvsfhu=3730313035355645524752594c&gclid=CKKd5fb_6scCFUg8gQodUwIBOw&kpid=701055VERGRYL Outfit comes with: Jacket - XL Pants - L Gloves (OK condition) - one size fits all Full head cover - one size fits all selling all for $300. Spent over $500 originally
  2. He might do it. Have him push the thick stuff for you on the way in! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Lol! I can't shoot a cap gun in my neighborhood without one of the many liberal neighbors I have going ape$hit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. He was next door eating my neighbors bushes last night. Too bad I'm in Amherst..... No action this morning so far Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Was out there 6-12 today. Not even a squirrel. Good luck everyone
  6. Happy for you treeguy! I hunt the same unit (9H) and your posts are very encouraging! Matter of fact I had an extremely slow start to bow season and it kept me motivated and I finally got a buck the day before gun season opened Oh yeah ....GREAT LOOKING BUCK!
  7. Try the tonawanda wmu or Carlton hill wmu. I've hunted Carlton hill and there are a ton of deer there but its a little scary come gun season. Watch for the idiots
  8. I'm sure you've heard this before but the most important thing is playing the wind right and it's not just as simple as have the wind in your face when hunting. How you get to your hunting spot when the wind is not in your favor is just as important. Understanding thermal temps and wind direction is also critical. Hunt high elevations(tree stands) in the morning when temps rise and low elevations (grind blinds) later in the day when thermals drop. The terrain also affects wind direction how your scent carries into the woods or fields or whatever your hunting. I learned a lesson many years ago that overgrunting and rattling can cause bucks to be very cautious. It does work but it has to be the perfect scenario and most times the deer will circle downwind to smell what's making the noise. If he smells you first he won't come in. Mature bucks stay alive long enough due to superb survival instincts. Use all the knowledge together and you'll get one. Stay positive! And good luck
  9. Hunt by onyx is awesome and so is Trimble GPS hunt. Both have options to purchase private land owner info and Hunt by onyx has it free for a 7 day trial. Awesome features if you hunt public land and need to track onto private land. Also each app marks treestands , blood trails etc etc. Very cool apps. Also they both geocache
  10. Shot this 4 pointer yesterday at 445. My first thought was it was a vital hit so tracking in the dark won't be too bad...boy was I wrong. I found the arrow about 15 ft into the woods that he ran into and snapped off around 6 inches from the tip of the broadhead. It had some bright red blood and hair. Good sign! I searched the woods for him until around 930 pm and finally had to call it a night when I found only 4 drops of blood. So I continued today in the morning and still after another 3 hours of searching I can only find 4 drops and I started to think I may have just wounded him. I started to do a grid search in small sections closest to the last blood drop and another hour and I found him. Turned out to be a double lung shot that stuck into the right shoulder and that's why the arrow didn't pass through and broke off when he ran. The arrow shaft pretty much plugged the entry and that's why the blood was so hard too find. First deer with a bow for my first bow season ever and I'm stoked it ended up not being a bad shot!
  11. Found my deer! 7 hours searching between last night and this morning but I finally found him.
  12. Wasn't able to locate him last night. I tracked until around 10pm and lost the blood trail [emoji31] Going back now hopefully still visible with the snow coming down. I'm keeping my fingers crossed
  13. Passed on a button buck. No shot on a 6 pt or doe that ran in together.
  14. That's ridiculous. Some people should not be out in the woods at all
  15. So I recently built a closet to use as a "scent free" room for hunting clothes and gear. I am using an ozone generator from the company whitetailr in that closet but works like to know how long it takes for the ozone to make everything scent free. Hoping to get some opinions from guys who've used them. Thanks
  16. Hunted 9H (carlton hill) yesterday and 9F (Lancaster) today have seen 1 younger buck moving each day. Both bucks were 6pt and noses to the ground seeking. No shot opportunity
  17. Just saw a nice big body 6 pt with his nose to the ground. No response on the grunt so he was hunting something more important lol
  18. Geno it's tough going out there. I love this thread though and if it weren't for other people letting us know what they're seeing I would've thought all deer migrated south for the winter
  19. This year has been so tough. I can count the deer I've seen on one finger. Isn't this supposed to be primetime? Feels like I'm being punked. Lol
  20. Im doing everything the wrong way today???? Got in late. No lunch packed. Cold. I might actually get a deer today lol
  21. Climbers for me personally but to each his own. I always have my climber for just in case. I like to hunt both ways but I've always had more luck with bigger bucks with the climber. Scent advantage
  22. My friend John got a real nice 8 pt early this morning. 9H. Not exactly live from the stands but a real nice buck!
