  1. tradition thats a thing of the past like oct 15th archery opner, big game season opening on monday, etc.
  2. the only thing i crimp are handgun loads (for my relovers) and and thing that will go into a tubler magazine. if you dont crimp them as you push them in you can also push the lead in. w/a relover the recoil could losen one causing a cylcing problem.
  3. yes they are akc reg, and only the bottom 2 are left.
  4. greg how ya been? hows the running going getting any treeded?
  5. i often carry a encore in a 7-08 or a blackhawk in .41mag.
  6. i was in the same boat a few years ago and settled on pair of barska 10x42. they have the bak 4 roof prism and are fulley coated. i love them and they are not bulky put them on a bino strap system and use them for everything. i didnt need camo so it save ya 10 bucks. i think mine were around $60.00 look at natchez or midway or do a search.
  7. we do that too. we have a treeing walker and 2 english. had a redbone for a while.
  8. well this sow had a very nice head on her she dressesd out at 145 and was 3 3/4 years old. i was glad to have harvested her, she was full of bird shot in both hind quarters and loins as well. she had also been shot high in the rt front legg stright on and out the back but only hitting flesh. i was not pleased as i lost most of the meat to the effects of the bird shot.
  9. i have harvested 5 bear here in the catskills, they are a hard animal to judge. dont get me wrong there are some big ones around but not as many big ones as said to be!!! at any rate the are very good eating. 220# sow 6 3/4 years old 165# male very long 4 3/4 years old 155# sow 10 3/4 years old 145# sow 3 3/4 years old 125# sow 2 3/4 years old how big would you guess this one to be?
  10. i have used 30-06 brass. you will need to check the case lenth as it will be long. the 25-06 is a great round, modert recoil, very flat shooting. i used one for everything from bear, to mulies. i always was fond of the 120 gr nosler partition. had good success with imr 4350 and imr 4064.

  17. we enjoy eating deer meat we do not pass a legal buck. here in 4r our deer numbers are not what they use to be. i refuse to harvest a doe in this area. i have 4 children 2 of hunting age and there is nothing worst than not seeing game. i enjoy the days of seeing 20 plus deer still hunting thru these mountains, but they are gone!!! if you see 5plus you have had a good day.
