Just dug up my 2017 harvest head. Bugs did a nice job cleaning up the flesh. It just needs a warm water scrub and clean. I do not boil or bleach. I like a natural look myself. Not sure of dimensions. I generally don't care about scoring deer. I will do a rough calculation for those interested. Not my biggest deer however. Teeth wear indicates a 3 year old.

Yep, an old Buck I had been pursuing for 4 or more seasons failed to show up on camera last season. I knew his routes, would often see his camel sized hoof prints and would get 3 or 4 decent pics usually during the season, but always at night. Last season there was no more sign, no prints no pics. I had actually reached the point were I was enjoying his ghostly presence and was no longer sure I even wanted to harvest him. In any case, it looks like nature and time played out for him, whatever happened.
His passing did did free up my hunting mind-set tho. I became somewhat obsessed for a few years and let all kinds of decent Bucks walk, waiting for him.

Barley less than 24 hours and the MSM are beginning to drop the Sante Fe shooting. You see...he used the 'wrong' kind of guns. The want the AR style rifle gone, because that is the one gun that exemplifies the purpose of the 2nd amendment above all others. This is totally about a gun ban and not public safety. If they cared about saving people they would have cleared up Chicago by now

I don't bother with commercial blinds anymore. I have 2 fav spots now where I have thrown some brush and branches together around a couple of trees I sit against. Today the Turkey came up on my open side and never saw me. It's all in the camo and slow slow movements. Decoys are good visual distraction also. I make sure they are not to close to me. The plan went perfectly today. The Turkey pass by me on the way to the decoys. I have never seen Turkey active in bad weather so I no loner go out in anything worse then a very light drizzle. I usually sit about 35/40 yards away from my decoys also. I hunt Turkey like Deer, try and catch 'em coming or going to the area of visual interest.

I had a great little hunt this morning. All was quiet until about 9, but I managed to call in 3 young bachelors, they all sailed passed me at 12 yards. I brought the gun up but realized these guys need another year or two. They dutifully hung about and flashed their tails at my 2 female decoys. I had to wait a good while before a tractor in the top field pushed them off before I could sidle back for coffee. One of my more successful woods hunts in terms of calling in Turkey so closely. Called in a mature group on Wednesday morning but they never got closer then 60 yards. They did not like the male decoys. Today I only put out the ladies and it seemed to be a better result.

This is yet another chapter in the attempted engineering of the pussifcation of the American male. Boys need boy only spaces and group dynamics. Sociologists have already proved the negative impact on male learning in mixed schools. In the name of 'progress' we have in fact taken 2 step backwards.
