Doesn't look like we are getting a cool down until November.

Just stepped out to test the air. Far too warm for hunting. Tomorrow looks crappy. Looks like Wednesday at the earliest for me. I will probably wait for Friday evening however.

That is second deer i hit with this car
I was regularly hitting deer when I had a red car also. 2 grey cars since, no deer hit thus far

Short sit tonight with no deer sighted. Although a cam pull is indicating a lot more movement around my late Bow season stand at the other end of the property, mostly doe. But the doe will bring in the big boys soon enough. Best attractant money can't buy. I was strapped in for the first time tonight however!

Pretty obvious that war is inevitable at this point. The left always turns to bullets once the ballot box stops giving them the power they crave

Interesting article, and seems to rebut the common assumption (that I always held) that the most dangerous black bear is a mother protecting her cub(s).
Still, it doesn't say anything about the comparative likelihood or instance of brown vs black bear attacks. ?

i hunted up here in Indian lake for bears and never saw a thing. But this gal hiking up there sure did. Shes tough! https://www.timesunion.com/local/article/Three-bears-and-one-tough-hiker-4847473.php#photo-5242034
She was recommended to have a rabies shot simply because she got bear blood on her. Is this something bear hunters do as a matter of course??

I do not see any repetitious movements here on my cameras ever.
You just need to follow the sign. This means you will be moving stands every year to wherever the rub lines and scrapes are. Movement patterns change year to year in the woods I find. If you have natural pinch points, obvious creek crossing points etc, you could keep a semi permanent set-up near those. I have one such stand. All the others get moved regularly

Does scent crusher make that
I imagine the scent crushing aspect of this garb is minimal. Certainly something is getting crushed

The fact that you are familiar with this outfit concerns me Papist! And if you plan to wear one, use a more open camo pattern like predator camo. On second thought, maybe its a bit too open as is!
Suffice to say the model on the right requires a heat seat for comfortable use. Do not neglect this area when using bug spray also

69 degrees forecast by 7am tomorrow. No need to set the alarm tonight. Don't feel to need to gut deer in 80+ degree weather.
Think I'll wait for Friday evening in fact. Temps back to normal by then

Wow. 7 bucks is a great 2-3 years for me
Woods hunting is tough. I dream of a field edge myself. And yet, most years, eventually something decent comes along. This year I need 4 yrs or better. No interest in the babies this year. I am preparing for disappointment but I know a younger animal will not cut the mustard for me in terms of my head-space this year. A really really great 3 year ole might get a look in toward seasons end. I am more looking forward to getting my nephew on his first deer tho.

Lovely morning in the stand this am. No Monarch Bucks wandered by sadly. There is a new rub right by the stand however and there was a strong whiff of Buck in the air this morning. I did receive my summit tree harness in the mail however. I hate wearing the things but I figure the discomfort and inconvenience is probably worth it. I will be messing about with that during the afternoon sit.

Love McGregor. He brings color and vitality to what could otherwise be a very tiresome sport to watch with all that rolling around and tickling on the floor. Hopefully there will be a re-match.

People thinking hunting when it’s cold is hardcore. I say hunting when it’s 85 is hardcore. Good luck guys!
Precisely. I really fatigue in the warmer weather. Can go all day in the cold.

No hunting tonight as the weather was pretty nasty, but I did get out real quick to make a 2nd horizontal rub from a pine branch. This one went up quickly as I used 2 trees vs having to bury a post. This is right next to an annual scrape and licking tree. The scrape just got opened up too! It's finally on boyz!!
