What you explained Doc, as well as this whole thread clearly demonstrates is the liberal mindset. "If I am afraid of something or don't like something I best make a law against it." Case in point the stupid ass unsafe act. Oh no those hunting rifles are terrifying I best ban all of them becsuse they look scary. And that is exactly what is going on with the requests of some namby pamby members here, who don't enjoy the political threads so we should outright ban them. Here's an idea...LEAVE THE FORUM IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT! I promise you, you won't be missed. You Can't Beat My Meat!

Welcome and my girlfriend is originally from up near Burlington in Jericho, VT. There are plenty of lakes to fish in up there, whitetail populations are definitely not what they used to be but you should still do alright up there. Should get some cracks at black bear too! And welcome to the green state You Can't Beat My Meat!

Now I just need to find a range near Westchester that has 300+ yards. Or I suppose I can check the chart and sight in 200 yards holding high to mark the 300 yards approximately You Can't Beat My Meat!
-
Well Mr. Curmudgeon after looking at a ballistic chart I have reconsidered and will zero with 300 yards. You Can't Beat My Meat!

It's all about the weatherby with the swarovski glass. Also have to add in the near mfg scope mount. Just gotta go with the best all around. Plus gotta love the beauty of his mounts albeit they go from 300+ You Can't Beat My Meat!

That's a beauty! The wood ones are definitely nice lookers! They are just super heavy. After using a lighter accumark and still being heavy on a 10 mile/day mountain hunt decided to go with the ultra lightweight. Fingers crossed it makes a difference. I can only imagine it will You Can't Beat My Meat!

I have mine in ultra lightweight. So this bad boy will kick like its its job, but that's OK. I can handle it. And yes weatherby are AWESOME rifles. I think in a couple years I want to get one of the 6mm mags for target shooting You Can't Beat My Meat!

Also thanks for checking Biz You Can't Beat My Meat!

In all seriousness, what were you going to say? It isn't about not being able to afford the ammo, I have no problem with spending $100+ a box, it's more of a matter of if I don't need to spend that much then why spend it unless necessary. You Can't Beat My Meat!

Dave, that is the sad reality it seems I won't be able to avoid. More so wishful thinking to prove myself wrong and also potentially get a deal somewhere. I knew the pricing when I got gun but that's OK I still love it, just was wondering if there were/are any deals to be had yet You Can't Beat My Meat!

Well along the lines Biz was saying. One must also remember that elk were native to the north east many moons ago You Can't Beat My Meat!

Looking to buy some .300wby mag 180 grain TSX, unfortunately I found a spot in NH that had them for 74 a box, but alas they won't ship to NY. My question is does anyone know where I can get these for a decent price? You Can't Beat My Meat!
