What are you judging for on your potatoes? Yield, biggest, appearance? What variety? Feed them nitrogen up until the blossom's fall off them, after that they like potassium. Trust me speaking from lots of experience.

What a crock. I've been out quite a bit since gun season opened in 8F on my own land and haven't shot any deer, not because I'm letting them go (I do pass young bucks if I see them). Its because I'm not seeing any deer to shoot! I would love to shoot a doe for some meat, it's been my goal for two weeks. I grumble to myself every time I hear this too many deer nonsense.

Been a good coyote season around my area of 8F. I got one opening day, my buddy got one yesterday on a small drive we put on and I heard another one was shot by a neighbor this morning. No wonder we aren't seeing the amount of deer we thought we should be! -

Me and my buddy hunted all day yesterday and most of today in 8F. Neither have yet to see a deer. I did get a coyote yesterday, so at least I got some shooting in! -

Good sit so far in 8f. Had a smallish eight point harassing does and rubbing close by. Little later doe and two fawns came running by followed by a big coyote. Called the yote in but no luck getting him. -

Saw three bucks following a doe across a field today about 3:30. Really big one right with her, pretty nice one about a minute behind them, a small one right behind the second one. Wish I had my binocs to see them better with as they were about 300 yards out behind my barn. -

One small buck wandered by in 8F half hour ago. -

Nothing last night, nothing this morning, nothing so far this afternoon.... I'm beginning to see a trend! My camera check this morning showed good activity 10/26 and 10/27. -
DEC seeking landowner assistance with turkey study
tater replied to Jennifer's topic in General Hunting
Turkeys flock up every winter on my property. The last two years I called the DEC to participate in this study. They never show up to do it though, so this year I'm not calling, I tried to help them out enough. -
8F, been dead where I hunt until today. Had a group of deer go by my stand this morning. Too thick to see just how many. This afternoon I passed on a pretty decent eight pointer feeding on some clover and corn (hoping to see the big guy). A while after he left a doe and button buck came into the corn. I shot the doe and she dropped. So now I'll have a little meat for the freezer and be able to keep waiting for a big buck to show.

8F, had a buck chasing does on the walk in this morning, too dark to see. Turkeys are waking up now.

The best action I usually have on camera is from 11\5-11/12. I'm planning for some stand time then.
