I am pretty sure that it says to the tips of the limbs, but it may be to the widest point, which could include the wheels.
Ok. Thanks. Because if it did include the wheels, it would be illegal. It is supposed to be from the tips of the limbs. There are many that don’t meet the requirements that NY has set forth.

It is tip to tip uncocked, not axle to axle. My recruit measures 17.125”. That, and the maximum draw weight regs were also part of the NYB settlement to allow the crossbows in for the last two weeks (peak rut) of archery season back in 2014.
NYB must wield more political influence up in the northern zone, where the poor crossbow hunters get only three days before the guns come in, all of it way before the rut.
Ok. It’s not axle to axle. My bad. Does 17.125” include the wheels or is that at the end of the limbs? I’m just curious. I don’t want to get jammed up. Thanks

I still thought the crossbow requirement is at least a 17” axle to axle and the Barnett Recruit comes up short. Be safe out there.

Sorry charly you are dead wrong on that one.
They do say that crossbows are treated as a muzzleloader. That’s why I thought it was considered a firearm. Good luck and be safe.

Crossbows are considered a firearm and orange must be worn. Even if that wasn’t the case, I’d still be wearing orange when other people are out with their muzzleloader. Just sayin...

That's great that he got it back and got it to you. Very few people would be so considerate. Do not forget to get him a Christmas present this week. He surely deserves a nice one. valoroutdoors.com
That was already taken care of.

Did you have permission to look on that property. Always to find the animal....but nicer to learn how they reached after the shot......where did they go and how far from POI. Congrats!!!

I did not have permission and honestly that was the last place that I would’ve suspected he went. He crossed a main road after possibly getting jumped by some small game hunters not long after I shot him.

wow. what a monster! why did it take the guy 6 months to return him? lol
He told me over the summer that he no longer had it in his possession and gave it away, but would try and get it back for me. It took a while, but he finally got it back and contacted me. I believe him and I’m just glad to finally have it.

I didn’t hunt much at all this year due to an injury back in October. And last year I shot what I thought was a pretty good buck on Election Day, only to hit him a touch back in the liver. He ended up doubling back to where he came from and I never found him. The gentleman who cares for the adjoining property ended up finding him a few days later and took the head. I only found out about it over the summer in a conversation with him. He promised that he would return it to me and today he finally did. After it being a bust this year and many sleepless nights last season as I continued to look for this buck, I’m glad that I’ve finally got him back. It turns out that he’s a 13 point. I’m going to drop him off and have his skull whitened up so more this week.

I dont know if you do or you dont; Are you suggesting , however, that Grouse does?
I could be wrong but I think he was referring to one of the resident Rino’s here that may or may not have voted for Brandon and some of his outlandish remarks...

It is not amazing to me. It is entirely predictable!
There are some here who seem to sit on the edge of their seats just waiting for something or someone to pounce on.
Hate-mongers are easily triggered and quick to respond with negativity.
Again, predictable!
Personally, I think someone is so but hurt about getting a vacation that they constantly try to bait people into an argument so that the other person can get a vacation or even banned.
Back on topic, I think that is a great perspective on how things are these days.

Don’t waste your time arguing with him @Northcountryman He’s nothing but a troll who gets off on stirring the pot with true Conservatives. He makes no sense at all and is so out of touch with reality.

Please give examples how how the constitution has been destroyed… outside of a few 2nd amendment issues which the SCOTUS is about to fix
Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkI can go on and on, but I have better things to do. I really don’t have time for you anymore. You’ll just spew some brainwashed leftist bs anyway. I’ll just name one, how about freedom of speech? I’m sure that there are others on here that can explain other examples for you. I’m done with you troll.

Someone doesn’t like them either… someone voted for Trump in 16 and just couldn’t do it again..
Someone didn’t vote for Trump for president and then voted Republican down ticket. So please don’t talk about what you don’t know
Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkBlah blah blah blah.
I know that he’s still living in someone’s head rent free and someone also has blinders on and can’t see how the libs are destroying our Constitution.- 1

Someone needs to get over Trump and start paying attention as to how the liberal/progressives are destroying our country.

What kind of simple minded man child won’t be friends with someone with different political views
Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkProbably someone who gets called a simple minded man child just because they have different political views. Why do you always have to resort to name calling?

He was a KGB informant and and he defected to Canada. He was also an anti communist and he talked about brainwashing and subversion tactics used by the communists. Everything that he said is exactly what has been happening here in the US for many years. He talks about the use of useful idiots by the left to advance and spread their propaganda. You should do some research and listen to what he has to say. It will be like you’re looking in a mirror.

Would really hate to see something happen to the guy with the crossbow hunting behind the house with no orange on. You would think one close call would be enough to always be on the safe side.
