Anyone process thier own deer? Trying to learn how, don't really have too much money to have it done professional everytime, plus would really like the satisfaction of doing it on my own.

    Proud Pop

Thats awesome, I have a 3-1/2 yr old, and just like you I'm nowhere near a pro, but have been showing him different thing. He loves it and asks all the time to go out and shot his bow, a plastic one from Toys r us. Proud moment
  13. I would want a small cabin, back deep in the woods, with enough room for me and my two boys, in the southern part of Alaska. A couple of hundred acres, some swampy wetlands, and a nice river/stream to get some of those beautiful salmon.

  16. My family and I will be moving to Goshen this month, thats a good idea, I would like to find some club or people who I can get to know and share the hunting experience with.
  17. The biggest reason she is against guns in the house is that she is afraid of one of the children getting there hands on it, which I can understand. I am trying to pound home the idea of education and respect, if you are educated about guns and have respect for them they can be a vauable tool. I think she just watches to much news and sees all of these accidents with people and there guns. I try to explain to her that those are due to lack of repscet for the weapon or common sense on the part of the people, what do you guys think?
  18. Great ideas guys, thanks a lot. Really like your idea jjb4900!
  19. Haha, thanks guys. Vince1 thought about that, seems ike a good idea.
  20. Ok, looking for advice on how to get my wife onboard with the idea of me purchasing a rifle and/or shotgun to use on hunts. She has no problem with having a bow in the house, but she is deadset on not having a gun in the house. Any thoughts on how I could get her on board?
  21. Awesome idea, never would have thought of that, thanks
  22. Doc, I plan on starting with big game, deer, turkey, bear, etc. I am planning on starting with a bow, having some trouble conviencing my wife to let me bring a gun in the house, but I plan on doing both. I have a practice bow a buddy of mine let me borrow, so I have been working with that. Right now I dont have that much area to practice, but we are moving to Goshen and will have a few acres to play aorund on. I have been reading, watching and researching as much as I can and trying to asorb as much as I can. Unfournately I dont have any one close to me who hunts, so I have been doing it all on my own, bnut I am having fun and can't wait to get going. Thanks for the welcome everyone, can't wait to join the club and get out there and make some memories.
  23. Thank a lot, really appreicate. I can't wait to get out there.
