Im not even close to an expert, interested to see what people have to say about this myself. From what i understand they normally hunt alone, but occasionally will hunt together as a family. They use an ambush method when doing this with one chasing and another up ahead waiting to pick up the chase, this way its easier for them to keep up with their prey. I dont believe they form large packs like wolves do and I know that just a few may sound like a lot more. Just last weekend I heard what sounded like a few yotes yipping and saw three doe crashing through the thicket. It sounded like the yipping was right on their tail but i never saw a yote just the bodies of the deer.
