    The track of state land I hunt is very large....I have drove the roads of it and still haven't seen it all. In the sense I feel the more hunters there are in the woods the better my odds are. Just my opinion but yes it gets crazy there....sounds like a war going on

    I too have gone in far to avoid other hunters but become very picky on what i shoot

    Public land is a trip....guys sitting 10 feet apart....You feel like a bullet is going to rip through your chest at any moment....I like to sit in spots where I think the deer will head when hunters go in at first light....when gun season opens and I hunt public land, scouting in my opinion is out the window

    Some places I hunt vision is the only thing you need but I still like to hear everything

    When hunting I have a hard time wearing a hat or putting up a hood. I feel like it cuts down my hearing. When I put up a hood, it seems like every little head movement makes me just hear the hood scraping against my head. Anyone else have this issue

    Turkeyfellers - I didn't read that....I know better than to leave without it.....the joys of hunting are getting to your stand and realizing what you forgot.... but I'm having fun hunting and wouldn't change a thing

    Tip #1 - don't eat chilli before you go hunting Tip #2 - bring toilet paper Tip #3 - wear an old shirt you can cut up when you forget your toilet paper

    Using a drag line seems like a fork in the road. How does the buck know what way to follow. Does he go in your direction or back the way you had come from

    I know where I hunt on state land there is to much hunting pressure for scents to work in my opinion.
