deer are moving in 6k.....buddy just sent me a picture of an 8 pointer he just shoot

I live and hunt in Oneida county. we have a few decent bucks around but I hunt in 7m for southern tier and just plain out see more deer and more bucks

Sitting hasn't been going well for sightings so i still hunted with the rifle tonight here in 6k......saw 2 doe and a fawn......i love still hunting

i live not to far from you and agree with you and have always said there are two different type of NYers.......fyi for the safety freaks, your kid has a better chance of ODing on meth or getting shot in a school shooting then a tree stand accident

im jealous of you guys who get out with the bow......my business is still in full swing and doesn't allow the time I need......but I make time when muzzle loader opens to be out every weekend

my son who will be 2 in November(birthday is opening day of southern tier gun) loves him.....he says deer non stop.....a hunter he will be for sure.....he already grabs hunting movies off the movie rack

as stated before he was no monster just a very memorable buck.......have him hanging on the pine wall i'm trying to get finished.....what is your thoughts on age.....taxidermist says 2 1/2 but I have another 2 1/2 hanging and this one just seems to be more beefier and really dark.......I look at the two and say young deer and older deer.....one was shoot on opening weekend of northern tier gun and the other opening weekend of southern tier.....this buck just is screaming im older......the other 2 1/2 is real slender and boney face.....this buck has a thick head......a lot of gray hair by antlers......he is very dark colored......the picture doesn't show well.....im not saying taxidermist is wrong just curious

I seem to always find myself the night before thinking and thinking about every different option.......I now find myself pulling a straw and going with it......I like not knowing what is going to happen

Does anyone think I should have passed this buck? this was state land! Either way it was a great memory

i live in 6k but i hunt 7m for the south......the south has been getting very crowded.......the land i hunt seems more popular every year.....but i believe it helps me see a lot of deer

so this buck was shot down south opening day......45 minutes on watch and he was down.......story to be told was my old lady was sitting right next to me and she was 9 months pregnant with our son.....2 days later she went into labor......he was chasing a doe and I made a shot happen at the right moment.....the picture makes him look a little smaller then what he is but again he is no monster but a trophy between me and her and we also felt we were together as a family even though he was in her stomach....I get him back in 3 days so I will post the pictures.....I had him mounted in full sneak to show how we first saw him when we saw him chasing the doe.....I cant find at the moment a better picture....hope I didn't bore anyone

I usually mount a deer because there is meaning.....I had an 8 point mounted because my old lady was hunting with me when she was 9 months pregnant with my son......we shot the deer together and she went into labor 2 days later.....I will post picture

I want to do the same.....every size buck.....I love mounts so I will do the spike and up count......I always wanted to do this and I will now start

I shot this buck some time ago and had It mounted......not sure why I had it mounted......I believe I did because everyone I hunted with on that property seemed to miss deer and when I finally saw a buck I killed it......myself personally I like the look of this little six point.......I have an 8 pointer that I get back in 3 days
