    I was being facetious. However some self professed deer scientist will claim the antler points is related to age, and it is, but there real MO is getting bigger racks to the taxidermist and then on their walls. My contention is that NYS is NOT being overrun with hunters and no real reason for ARs. If NYS hunter has only one weekend to hunt and wants venison in the freezer, don't make it harder. Far more politics than real science behind ARs.

    Yes! Lets get the DEC to implement age and body size restrictions! Self regulated ARs are ok, but ARs the brain child the wanabe trophy hunters.

    Those are fine reasons. I agree, so I will rephrase. "It should be about venison BEFORE antler points." Something vain about hunting for antlers.

    What about the availability of ammo, ya plenty of cheap COMMUNIST 7.62X39 available for those inclined to be be communist hunters, but the availability of the great 06 is pretty good to...even is much of it is made in Greece...

    Adkbuck mentions wind direction, which might be the biggest factor, but I believe age, maturity, and gender have a lot to do with it also. A yearling doe might want to be your pet, but a 5 year old buck knows (regardless of wind direction) that you are danger.

    LOL, those are fair points, but given that rational, then the only true All-American implement would be one invented by an American Indian. Kind of like saying Hot Dogs aren't American because their roots are from German bratwurst I just can't fathom being proud to hunt in America for our great wildlife with a communist bullit :/

    All the more reason to stick with the All-American .30-06.....the bullet that has killed more American enemy combatants AND North American big game animals than any other round In fact, I have a personal ban on anything with a mm next to it

    Hi folks. Why any good red blooded American would prefer Soviet communist ammunition to hunt our prized North American Whitetail is beyond me. yes, it will kills the animal, but one would be wiser to choose the All-American .30-06 or the Jack Conner .270. Happy Hunting
