  1. Guys I've heard this a little tougher meat before n trust me it's almost impossible to be a little tougher. It's very fatty meat n I've never once seen it tough. In fact you should best be grilling it to get some of the grease to burn off. Hope that helps n I'd love to hear how you're cooking it to make it tough?
  2. I have a Sako 375HH. I never hunt w it but had planned Africa many years ago n was bringing this gun. I never made it so the gun is of no use now but I love it. Shoots great n has very little kick.
  3. I can debate w ya. No mans land does certainly exist. Remember the dead deer had bloated organs., as it exhales also it's lungs deflate. The shot needs to be on target. I refer to no mans land as the space above the lungs. Many deer each year go unrecovered because of such hits. Future seasons find deer with wounds to prove it
  4. Hey guys I'm new to this forum so if I double posted this I'm sorry., I live in Jersey, am a hunter Ed instructor. My understanding is NY can be tough to find classes to attend. I live in Vernon, it touches Orange co. We offer courses there as well as other places. Dates will be posted soon. Now the course is free, recognized everywhere n everyone is welcome. If the class shows full when you try n sign up they allow walk ins so just come with your completed workbook. I believe the one difference in states is an archery proficiency test. Gotta be in a deers vitals 3 out of 5 shots at 15 yards. 20 if you use a crossbow. Pretty easy. Any questions pm me or check out NJ hunt website
  5. Amen to Elite! To the op, you mentioned the string hit your sleeve. Sounds like a bad grip. Knuckles should be at a 45 to bow not parallel. It'll give you more bow arm clearance
  6. Guys just a heads up., I live in Jersey and am a hunter Ed instructor., my understanding from friends is it's difficult in NY to find a course. Cherry Ridge Range is in Vernon the town I live in., Vernom n Warwick NY touch. The NJ course is recognized in every state including obviously NY. It's free and anyone is welcome. Any questions check out the NJ Hunt fish website or you can pm me
  7. A 6 year old will have a very short draw n tiny fingers., string pinch won't be a problem
  8. I teach many kids in many formats. They always use fingers first to learn the mechanics. I hope, before you bought the bow you checked his eye dominance., Obviously the draw length needs to be perfect to anchor properly, hand position correct to avoid torquing later on and string slapping the sensitive skin on his forearm. Many things such as release, follow through, etc can be done indoors on say a rainy day shooting a string bow. I know I'm giving more of an answer than you asked for but I'm only trying to help.
  9. They sell tons of bait too n that's not legal.
