  1. Ants, it won't, but that doesn't mean we can't do things to help keep guns from those who shouldn't have them. Which is what background checks are designed to do. So according to your thinking, because criminals will find a way to get guns we shouldn't do anything at all to keep people who shouldn't have guns from getting them? For the record I too think Obama, like Bush before him, is a failure as president.

  2. From todays NY Times:

The president wants to increase the number of government agents to process background checks and to expand the number of dealers who need federal licenses under current law and for more money to combat mental illness.

He is not currently advocating renewal or expansion of the expired assault weapons ban.

None of these things in any way seeks to take away anybody's guns, but of course all you paranoid, anti government, NRA followers will always find some secret conspiracy when it comes to anything to do with guns.

  3. Never give an inch!

You're going to end up giving up more then an inch. Allowing for unchecked gun violence will in the long run end up costing you your right to bear arms. As everyone here knows, but won't admit, the times are changing and those changes are going against gun owners. Failure on the federal level, lead by republicans who are beholden to the insane policies of a brain-dead NRA, are being meet with success on the state level as states pass more gun control measures. Instead of standing firm on your misguided beliefs, perhaps you might want to work towards passing sensible gun control measures instead of offering zero solutions. As more and more people grow tired of gun violence in their cities, and as cities expand ever outward, more politicians will answer their calls for increased gun control, after all it is the folks in the cities that carry elections.

  4. You treat your right as a privilege not a right. Please don't you and your leaders treat mine like that.

Perhaps gun ownership should be a privilege and not a right. It is proven an a daily basis that too many people are unable to properly handle such a right. Driving is a privilege, subject to numerous laws and restrictions and unless you wantonly abuse that privilege the state allows you to freely drive wherever and whenever you want. The same should apply to guns, pass a background check, like you would a roadtest, follow the law and be on your armed way.

  5. He/She can't give any examples. He/she is just an obvious hippie or hippie spawn who comes here to try and insight. Notice that when ever you call the cowardly little, brain washed hemp wearer out, he/she just disappears?? LOL! thats because this "person" is going back to his/her hippie idols and trying to get them to give a response to post.

Once again Uptown, although you are amusing, ,,,Take a bath and find a job!! LOL!!

If you seek examples of their hatred of those who are not like them all you need to do is read their posts which cleeary exposes their paranoid racist views. Maybe they needed to spend some time with "hippies", a few joints might help relieve their delusional mindset.

  6. The last one, most definitely yes. Some 'values' leave a lot to be desired. In case you haven't been watching the news, Europe is on the verge of social unrest , possible civil war, as a result of an influx of said 'values'.

Tell ya what. I'll send all the Jihadists over to your house when the poop starts flying. Hows that sound?

Papist and VJP are nothing but racists who think everyone is out to get them, I'm guessing they both enjoy dressing in white sheets as their bigoted posts indicate while Papist praises the twisted thinking of Donald Trump who he glorifies as the second coming of Adolf Hitler
  7. I don't have a problem cleaning up mess in the woods, but I am against crippling an economy to lower emissions further while other countries have no emission controls, I'm all for free trade but why not stop all products coming into our country that come from countries with no emissions, when you match or beat our standards then you can in port to here, then we lower emissions here again and they have to match to import here. A much better idea than lowering our so much company's leave for China and import at lower prices.. thays why I am against environmental emission controls being more and more testrictive..

Don't get me wrong I'm happy water and air here is cleaner, but all the air polluted in China heads this way.. better to cut it off there then kill jobs here..

The problem with your solution is that America produces very little of what American's buy, therefore we are dependent upon imports from the countries you speak out against. While claiming that attempts to lowers emissions will cripple our economy the surest way to kill our economy would be to ban imports from polluting countries being personal consumption (consumer spending) accounts for roughly 2/3 of America's economic activity.
