  1. In the past I would have said no owning land has not effect on what someone will take..... that is untill I bought land. Last year was the first year I had the property, closed the 2nd week of bow season. Got my climber out and had a brown is down mentality. Arrowed a doe the next morning. This year things have evolved. I have run cameras for a year. Done some land improvements. Added apple trees planted and plot hung many stands and followed my cams for a year. I will say my mentality has changed. I will not be shooting a doe this year and will probably be passing on 6 pointers as well. I took inventory of what I have on cams as well as meat I have in my freezer from the purchase of a cow and fishing and even some left over deer meat from a multi deer season last year. Basically i will only be shooting a buck that I want on the wall of the new cabin...... another factor that plays into this is there are two newer hunters that I mentor and I would much rather then take a doe or 6pt so why disturb the property for anything other then a wall hanger. New stand

So I couldn't help myself and went online today and bought the lone wolf sit and climb combo stand. This will be the 2nd climber I own as I don't really pack them in and out. I own my land and generally leave it attached to the tree and figured a 2nd one will add options. I also have 4 ladder stand and two groundblinds.... so I'll pose these questions what kinds of stands does everyone else use and what is the best stand you have used so far. The answer can for sure be different for both bow and gun Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  20. That is pretty much want we have done, last year we had a stand on the other side of the drainage as well that tree fell down and we did not replace it yet but we will. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Ok so the orange dots I just made are better representations of where those stands are the blue line going down the hill is a rain run off drainage... the long serpentine blue line is a flowing creek. Anything on the down screen side of drainage was selectively logged a year and a half ago. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. So Ive now had this property for two years and and have done pretty good at getting in on the deer. I just figured it's always good to get some other opinions see if there is anything I have missed. I am attaching a satellite and topo maps that have some of my more used stand placements on them Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
