  22. So I was able to advance another 40 yards this morning on my own…. Called deer search and they came out. The dog worked very hard and ran down multiple trails but was not able to advance the track any further than I was. I am hoping this deer is still alive. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Not a good night…. The short story is I had two shots at my target buck.. Wiffed once and I think I one lunged him the second time Ok so he cam in the first time I didn’t see him because of how thick till he was 10 yards away walking away from me. I tried to draw and the arrow came off the d loop. I fixed it and drew I thought he had only walked to 20 but it was 30 clean miss straight under his heart soft quartering away About 20 min later a small fawn came in and ate around the base of my tree I could see him looking back but couldn’t see at what. Then I saw the deers head poke out at like 7 yards. He could tell something was up and looped around the big oak to my right so backside shot, I used his time behind the tree to turn and draw. He stepped into a lane a 17 yards and I let it fly. Arrow hit high and just behind the shoulder blade from what I can tell. It hit the deer and nosedived into the ground. He jumped a few steps and then trotted off obviously hurt on his right side Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Up and in the same stand my buddy shot his buck from yesterday… loaded with white oak acorns LFG Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Great afternoon, I hunt behind my brother in laws house and have been hunting with one of his neighbors for the past two years. His neighbor had taken deer with a rifle as a kid but never with a bow. That all changed today, he had a doe with two fawns in front of him early and decided to let them walk. At around 5 o’clock my phone rang and it was him. He was whispering and said he shot a big spike. He told me he shot and missed and then shot again because it didn’t spook. He said the 2nd shot was high just under the spine. I told him to stay in his stand and that I would be over shortly. When I got there I could only find one arrow. The arrow I found was a for sure miss. 20 yards or so past that arrow I found some bright red blood. I for sure thought we were following a muscle hit but got on it any way. We followed spotty blood for about 150 yards before loosing blood. We made some small circles and got back on the trail. 50 yards later there he was. A solid 3 PT. After looking at the shot it was high and back and quartering too. The arrow was still sticking out of the buck. I made quick work of dressing it and he is on his way to the butcher.. After some celebration and cleaning the deer I did take the time to explain to him that he got lucky and why he shouldn’t take shots at that angle in the future. He is very excited. May even get a mount so I left cape in tact for him Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
