You guys might be right.....but the deer has the same hair loss on the opposite side too.

I know the deer look a little scraggly this time of year , but I was wondering if this deer might be a piebald.

After a hot start , the Mets are back to being the Mets. Yesterday they got called for batting out of order. I can't remember the last time I saw that.

I just sit there and cry......but seriously I just try to learn from it. I would go back the next day in the same vicinity.

I met a guy the other day while turkey hunting who installs high voltage power line poles. He showed me these pictures of a call he went on were the power line fell down and electrocuted this deer and an opossum.

Pretty cool ringtone. Be careful your phone doesn't ring when your hunting. LOL

Funny how I can practically pet them in my yard , but I get the shakes when I'm hunting them. This morning my heart was pounding so hard I thought he could hear it.

I was fortunate to shoot this guy this morning. He weighed in at 23 1/2 pounds with a 10" beard and 1 1/4" spurs. When I got home , I took him out of my truck and was walking to the side of my garage. I was just getting ready to breast out the meat. At this time , there was a gobbler walking on my lawn watching what I was doing. As soon as I put my turkey down , he came running over looking for a fight. He then began strutting , drumming and putting at his fallen comrade. He then proceeded to mount him and began pecking his head. All this commotion attracted another gobbler that was in my back yard and now it was a 2 on1 brawl. A few jakes walked over to watch but didn't get involved. It was pretty cool to watch. Unfortunately , I can't figure out how to post the video I shot of it.

Bought these 3 Mercer Lawing custom nestled guillotine style cage traps. These come in handy under certain circumstances.

I temporarily mounted it on a piece of scrap wood to dry out.

I heard a few different birds gobbling before day break. I set up a decoy and moved back about 25 yards and settled in. As it began to get light out , I made a few soft tree yelps and followed it up with one fly down cackle. As I sat there , I started watching a few deer walking around. The next thing I know , I got 7 gobblers running towards my decoy. They were on top of me so fast , I couldn't raise my gun up. Finally I said to myself "screw it" and ever so slowly I raised up my gun , took aim and fired. He never knew what hit him. Those Hevi Shot 6"s are very impressive and blew half his feathers off. Tale of the tape : 19 pounds , 10" beard , 1" spurs and one funky toenail. (time & date are off)
