  1. I would entertain the possibility of forming a partnership with a couple of other like minded guys. It works with the right people. I am not a fan of hunting public land and open minded to any and all possibilities. Just food for thought. It is nice to be able to manage your own land and create better opportunities to harvest older deer. I have 4 friends that bought 500 acres in Georgia and they are going into their 11th year and it really works for them. I just don't want to sweat in my stand during bow season anymore!
  2. Congrats! He is a real beauty.
  3. I too would avoid the mesh floor, pressure treated 2x6 going to last much longer and go bigger if you can.
  4. I am not really sure, just started looking. Adirondacks is on my list for the scenery I here the deer population is not so great there?. I would like to find someplace with elevation changes. I am open to any and all opportunities possibly joining a lease or buying.
  5. Good Day my fellow woodsmen. I have recently retired and will be living on my sailboat 7-8 months out of the year. I am an avid bowhunter and will be looking for property with or without a cabin to buy. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated. Good luck to all this upcoming season.
  6. Thanks for the replies guys. I will live on the property from July till November. The Adirondacks were just a thought. I have hunted Florida,Georgia ,Texas,Kentucky and NC. Just started looking for property and NY seems to be the most reasonably priced. I truly appreciate the replies. I am not at all familiar with the better areas and hunting laws in NY. Just trying to get some local knowledge. Maybe join a QDM lease would be an option.
  7. I have just retired and looking for some property to deer hunt. I am not familiar with NY hunting. How is the deer population in the Adirondack area? I am a responsible hunter, primarily bow. any response would be appreciated. Thanks, Brian
