I have returned to the field the party was in last night...

Had 2 doe walk thru a half hr ago..no good chance of a shot@ 40 yds..and hey my toes are cold..waterfowl dudes sound like theyre havin a riot..it seems like the kind of day where you dont feel comfy with the bow on the hanger..tree rats are everywhere and you cant take the footsteps lightly..

630 and sweatin...i was here last night..and as usual there was a deer party goin on in the field according to neighbors pictures...so im here again this mornin..ive got about a half an hr according to nyantler standard time..hahajkjk..had a talk with orion the hunter on the way in..we shall see if he heard me..btw..i love guys gettin outta their vehicles and smell like fresh pine scent air freshener...ill have to try that..hes hunted here "25" yrs and only gotten 5 deer...hmmm..

Ive been draggin my poor 7yr old with me..we walked into the field at 430..low and behold a young doe watching us..i drew and shot..w i f f..knowing i shouldnt have shot..but i still did..i found it dificult to restrain myself..but i did..hindsight being 20 20 glad i missed..altho he wasnt..she was small..and id rather totally miss than wound her..trying to explain this as being part of the "game" is like pullin teeth..

Bumped a small 8..shot my entire quiver empty..no blood..haha..jkjk..yesterday jr and i walked the wind and the rain..in the mornin we walked up to a bedded 2pt..and the pm hunt was well worth it with a run in with a 7 pt..he was lookin good thru the peep..however he pulled the hide behind a tree manuver..classic..go bills..out after the game..

Early season takedown? Always a relief..two more weeks for me till i start creepin around..good apples on and around the trees..finally after 2 yrs.. A 2.5 yr old buck...cmon couldnt you have let him walk..this early in the yr?..haha..jk..jk

I was pondering when or if anybody was gonna catch that..

I like havin the ol' lady grind my meat:) haha..however grinding almost frozen meat comes out better than warmer..

It was a wierd feeling while i was field dressin her..thays what i was expecting to see..an officer on the scene..haha I took a drive back dere this mornin after work..i counted 17! As i crested the hill..it was early and i couldnt see well enough to determine sex however im bettin theres girlies in there.. Mornin is lookin good..just gottA hoof it..not just drive back

One down..50 yd shot..180 yd stalk..put er down with a 22-250..she went 15 yds..

Whayever the reason..the point is the same...feeders or food plots..yer just attractin game..nothin wrong with it..just dont try to justify it by showing yer work..end result is the same..

Antlerless yes..but it only says centerfire rifle..no cartridge size..single projectile 20 gauge or higher..scoped it out last night...saw several..called a fox in too...was just a pup..skeets were horrible..think im gonna try early mornin..come in to drink from pond..cooler temps to keep skeets down..try shootin single or no fawn doe..let the older more mature doe with 2 fawn walk

Actually got permits today..5 tags..center fire rifle or shotgun..half hr before sunrise..till 11 pm Took spotlight and saw 3 seperate deer right off the bat..lookin promising

Yes..there are plenty of ding dongs huntin there..but on average barely get one deer all yr..im not looking to take any pleasure in this..its more of a job to me..if he needed welding done..id feel obligated to do so.. I appreciate the support fellas

Well i guess this is one of those times i hate that i try to do the right thing. The farmer who lives up the road and lets me hunt his property assured me he was getting nuisance permits and asked how i felt about that. My first thought was..mother fu@#er..but i paused for a bit as he proceded to tell me he wanted to place me as the property wildlife manager and wanted me to be the soul person to take care of the "problem" because he knew id "care" about what i was doing.. I was floored by this and had come to realize that this was one of those times when a landowner is reaching out for help and i felt out of respect i should ablige.. He figures with the damages to last yrs crop..he lost aprox 8grand to wildlife...thats one chunk of property..he has 3.. Im not really feelin good about the whole thing..however the dec agent assured him if more people applied for nuisance prmts..then more dmp prmits can be issued..and it will help getting things movin for an earlier season Also i feel obligated as i hunt his property and feel that if i do it..only antlerless will get taken and everything will be taken care of properly..thoughts?

So what yer sayin then is that a feeder would be better at exploiting the feeding instinct..if i had a feeder attached to a truck..or atv..size is irrelivent..its the purpose

Ive always questioned why some are ok with food plotting and its purposes..but scoff at feeders...its the same thing..focusing deer to one area..by use of food..or feeding habits..closely monitored..and hunted

I said before..whats wrong with youths hunting with the big boys?..id rather have earlier season than late ..ill take skeets and leaves over deep snow and freezin temps..as for idiots who poach..monkeys see...monkeys do..dont be afraid to confront people...

Less hunters and doe seekers..ar and qdm rising interest is my belief why..we have deer everywhere..sorry to hear you dont..but ive already seen 2 motorcycle / deer accidents..let alone the damage they do to ol farmer teds crops..you cant just wish the deer away..ya gotta hunt em down and get em..all of em
