O and btw they have  maps of all the toxic waste dumps in new york , you may want to take a look at that  so next time you buy a property its not near the toxic waste dump:)

Where the deer just stand there twitching while you are 20 feet from them like in that picture you posted the other day .

Well, snow to rain to snow to grapple. That’s why I’m heading for the hunting hut. Nice views from here and dry!

Look closely if you want a laugh. I built the wall panels separately and moved them out of the barn to paint. The paint job came out fine but when we put it all together in the field, my buddies immediately noticed that my trees were all upside down! Ah well. Warm and dry.

I did they went out of bounds

    Private property.

Saw a bunch of them  ,tracks all close to the border

Looks like they sneak in when they think coast is clear and then sneak back out when they think there  are Hunters around ,And there staying relatively close to the road ..

    .

You might enjoy his books and videos Bill. It may not be in your wheelhouse as most folks on here would rather have three gallons of gas to get a fire going then use a bow drill, flint and steel, or even a knife and a ferro rod to make fire. Take a break from those $200 Turkey Hunting books and read up on being an outdoors man for real. I don't mean that as an insult Bill, but start expanding your

I vaguely heard of him started watching some of his videos just now . But

    To be honest

I like watching his stuff a little better not because I think Dave knows more then that guy but I just like his presentation better on film he is  just a better speaker in my opinion.

If you shoot 25’ up in a tree I’m not sure orange would matter. Even states with mandatory orange laws don’t require it 12’ and up

Yea I guess until  you come down  what about the walk in and out ,Still a chance .

Unless you are really remote somewhere. Just a hat always good to have at least .

Say you fall and break a leg or something  or some other health  issue and are unconscious and they have to come looking for you  dressed  in all  camo it's just going to be much harder for them to find you then having some orange on.

All ways good to have some on you.

No idea how difficult the process is which is why I said he should do some research.  But I think TF was saying that he can’t find a breech plug that is 209 compatible for that gun.

You Need a drill press  the right clamp  the right drill bit   and if you mess up you just made a pipe bomb  no thanks .

  9. Don't know but ,

if you are having hard time getting the bullets down the barrel.

If that's a common problem someone  sells something to solve it . Possibly a lubricant of some sort specifically designed for that purpose.

but the same track in and out? or you literally covered 4 different miles and only 1 track? if so, that's a horrible sign. the snow came sunday/monday.

Walked all the way back to the bottom of the valley followed the river downstream  all the way to the border.  Then came back followed the river the other way upstream .

Then back up the same way I came back to that track then walked up   few 100 feet higher on the hill then walked parallel to that track  but higher up a little hoping to spot him from a elevated position.  Then I stop waited . Then back out same way I came in

fresh or not, if a young deer is what your after for meat go after those tracks. Young ones dont wander that far and  tend to stay in a general area  day in and day out.  Could be easy pickings.

I walked  up the side of the hill a little  and walked parallel to those tracks   I  have seen them in that general area a few times over the years .

I could not stay the whole day unfortunately.  What's disappointing is I walked in the snow 2 Miles  straight  back  and only saw that one track .

    Not good .

Any body in the woods today ? If so try not to laugh  at about what I’m about to post. You’ll spook the deer. I climbed up on our Florida flat top roof with extension ladder    Guessing 20’.  Hung 4 strands of new LED icicle lights  Go to climb down and ladder slides a bit in the grapple that’s been falling    After wearing harnesses and lifelines in stands all year I’m like f this. My head will split like a watermelon on the driveway.  Cmon neighbor let your dog out so I discretely ask you to hold ladder.  Hour and 15 minutes goes by and finally a salt truck is coming    I flag them down and ask to hold the ladder. Guy says last year he got stuck on eave of house and called his buddy to come over to let him in through window. Feeling a bit dumb but I’m still alive. There’s your laugh for the day at my expense.  Good luck to anyone hunting today.

Glad you are ok Turkeyfeathers .
