  1. I see...So posting an interview with an outside guest on Fox (who dumped Bundy btw) is support for Fox in your mind?

Just don't understand how your mind works Junkie. You make no sense.

And you still have provided no evidence for Bundy's treason or the Koch brothers 'fascism'.

Facsism can be defined as either government control of corporations or corporate control of the government. It is the marriage of goverment & corporations for total control.

Bundy wasn't the one comitting treason. Armed thugs taking the law into their own hands against a deuly elected government are comitting treason.

  2. Yeah I think that it is relatively new. I am just worried about the accuarcy. I have bullets touching at a 100 yards with this gun. As the old saying goes if it isn't broke don't fix it. I would just really like to get that monte Carlo type stock as the scope sits high.

A lot of accuracy is in the fit between the stock & the action. No replacement stock will have a presice fit & Boyds stocks, while decent, are still what you would call a utility grade stock. An aftermarket stock with precise fit would be expensive.

I doubt if you will improve the results you cite above. You may or may not see a degradation. (if it ain't broke you can't fix it) If you are experienced at inletting, you have a good shot at duplicating the above results with a stock that will fit your pysical characteristics better..

I would think that a slug gun would have a higher comb than a wingshooting shotgun.

My 1st choice would be to mount the scope as low as possible.

Is that the case right now?

If the scope is as low as possible, a lace on leather cheek piece would raise yur cheek weld. I used one on an 870 Express that had a 1-4X20 Leupy mounted on it.

Just some options that you might consider.

  3. Except Taxes had nothing to with it. At first they Feds created some cock-n-bull story about a tortoise that needed protecting.

The real story is that senator Harry Reid was working in tandem with the BLM to grab Buddy's land which had been pegged for development for solar and wind farms.

The BLM and Reid had already run of ever other rancher in the area. Bundy was the last hurdle.

    Good interview

    Why?

No one mentioned support for  either the Tea party or Fox news here. I certainly would give neither the time of the day.

    OK if you say so.

  4. Wouldn't mind owning one,but if one flys over me while I'm on my property Its a good chance it's not making it off

There are FAA rules about overflying others & invasion of privacy. There have already been some pretty bad behavior.

As usual, some a$$holes will push the envelope.

Using one of these for POV piloting (out of sight using a camera to pilot) would be difficult & take some time to master.

You can get cheap little versions & by investing as little as possible in a camera for POV piloting, you could have a "trainer" W/O risking a large sum of $$$ for the inevitable mishaps during the learning cuve.

For fixed wing line of sight (LOS) training an umbilical cord between 2 radios is used so that an instructor can take control as needed.

Quad coptors are so easy to fly LOS, the instructor can be pretty much eliminated but it still has to be learned in steps. POV piloting should probably be learned in an open area in case of disorientation which will be inevetible at 1st. You could revert to LOS to get your bearings.

I don't think an R/C aircraft of any kind could be considered a "drone" if it is flown LOS. Once POV piloting is involved, then any R/C aircraft would be considered a drone.

  5. What would be mandated next ? Orange guns and bows . Yes , it's an exaggeration but it's not that far fetched .

I still wear a Blaze orange vest and hat as well as my back tag holder is blaze orange but I don't think that blaze orange should be mandatory . What are "YOU'RE"   ( ) thoughts  ?

Again the original "question" was if people would support mandatory BO in exchange for more realistic hunting hours. It was intended as a bargaining chip for the hand wringers in Albany. Many states have such hunting hours W/O significant hunter fatalities. Most if not al have mandatory BO.

Sadly, it appears that many others here don't seem to adhere to the sunrise/sunset law anyway so in their minds they would be getting nothing in return.

For me and you we would be giving up nothing since we already wear BO. My land is very lightly pressured. I hunt so that it is that way & it is somewhat of a sanctuary. When my gun goes off, the deer are at the end of their education. Adjoining land is not highly pressured. The only time I have seen deer in obvious escape mode in over 16 years was on a Thanksgiving day in 2001. Aparently one of my neighbors decided to go out before the dinner to stillhunt & ran 3 does by me. Most deer movement is natural, either mid morning of right at sundown. That extra 30 minutes, or less dending on light, would double my chances at killing mature bucks.

  6. I think it should be posted everywhere. I think the embarassment is a far better deterent than a $200 fine is. If they could add a points system, like drivers licenses, with suspension or revocation limits, then we might be getting somewhere in detering people from breaking the laws.

I think a "points ststem" would be a deterant. Accumulate points for bad behavior, lose points if you keep your nose clean. Just like a druver's license.

As far as the fine & costs being too lenient?  My cell pone bill is $70 a month, I buy my own phone & it cost me about $50. A one time expense. All I use is talk & text.

My wife & daughter pay $50 each for data because they have smart phones. They pay their own way on that.

My phone, DSL & DirectTV bills combined are less than $300 a month. (I'm getting raped on DSL due to lack of competition)

All of the $$$ I have spent on stands, hunting clothes, guns, etc will give me years of service. I do not run out & buy the latest tecnoloy when what  already have serves me well. Probably less than $20 a month amortised over the life of useage & my guns will serve my son for his lifetime if he takes care of them. One of them is already 115 years old & still is plenty accurate & lethal.

I am on a fixed income & my wife's salary is only modest. My income is about 30% of what it was 5 years ago. $300 out of my monthly budget would be very hard to squezze out for a on etime expendature that would have no lasting usage.

  7. Wildcat, I never stated I'm Tea Party and I don't have cable or even own a TV.  I certainly can afford it, but see no value in it.  That shows how assumptive and judgmental you are.  It also shows how easily you can be used as a tool for leftist, progressives and propagandists.  You seem to not question anything they feed you as long as it supports your desire to "fix" the country in your own image.  Your obviously a leftist, based on your recent posts.  NY state elected officials and politics reflect your views too.  I'm sure you support them.

The Bundy issue has a history going back decades, a history one must read in order to speak intelligently on the current event.  You apparently have not bothered to educate yourself on the history.

You are however, giving me a real education about your mindset.  It's not surprising.

Take some reading comprehension classes & learn the difference between a statement & a question. A question is intended to provide an avenue for discussion.

I never stated anyone was either a member of the Tea Party or a FOX News viewer. I merely asked if anyone thought that these propaganda machines had their best interests in mind.

Quite a difference. Oh, but the right doesn't use propaganda does it?

As far as "tools"? You don't think that the right uses people as tools?

I have conservative views & I have liberal views. Anyone that can't see some good on both sides is narrow minded & being used as a tool. But those of you on the right seem to think there is no room for free thinking. It's either all one way or the other. How naive is that?

Now, about our State government. If you think that Cuomo is a "liberal" you don't have a clue what liberal means.

Quomo is about 90% conservative & his only "liberal" stance is one that I don't support & that is The Safe Act. One only had to compare his campaign with that of Alise Steffonic (sp?) to see that they were from the same source & therefore from the same $$$$$. The "right" even made sure that his opponent was someone that couldn't win as Quomo had a close call in the primary from a relative unknown that was late to the party with little funding.

Do you think that the powers that be on the "right" won't try to take your guns when it is convenient for them & they don't need your votes anymore?

Not all liberals are gungrabbers & not all gungrabbers are liberals. Quomo fits the later catagory.

  8. Can you prove that such people even exist? Do you have proof that Bundy and his supporters want to overthrow the government in such a manner, as you seem to suggest is their true motivation?

And isn't that what the Founding Fathers did, once government went rogue?

It's hilarious that you think the current government is 'democratic'.  Obamacare anyone?

Do you even know what the original Boston Tea Party was about?

It was about tax breaks, government bailouts & virtual monopoly status for corporations. I. E. The British East India Company. Sounds like a rebellion against "conservative' ideology to me.

  9. I see.  The government is your friend.  Obey.

The fascist funded Tea Party & Muslim owned propaganda machine known as FOX News is your friend? Take some time to find out where the $$$$ is coming from behind those "conservative" echo chambers.

The definition of treason is advocating the violent overthrow of the (democratically elected) US Govenrment. Those imbeciles aren't "patriots" they're traitors. They are exactly what the 2nd Amendment defines as "domestic enemies of the state". Just because you don't like the way an election turned out, that doesn't give you the right to take up arms against the government. If you are a true "patriot" you would take up arms to defend your country against those traitors if necessary.

What if all the ranchers out West decided to ignore regulations & take over BLM lands? How do think the hunters in those states would like deadbeats like Bundy infringing on their right to hunt PUBLIC land by taking it over as if it were intended for their exploitation? Even though it belongs to all the citizens of the US.

  10. Just seems to me that the NRA does things to turn off many gun owners with the people they support politically or have at their rallies, I mean Ted Nugent, really?? and they support politicians who other people, many gun owners could never get behind, politicians who's right wing agenda includes stomping on women's rights or trying to crush unions etc, sorry for getting too political but that's what this is about, I think the NRA would have a lot more power and clout if they dumped the all or nothing stance and distanced themselves from some of the far right wing politicians they have become saddled with.

These are the exact reasons I ended my membership. I got tired of the endless e-mails urging me to vote for politicians that were against my best interests. 1st of all "anti-NRA" is a bit extreme. The NRA did some good work at one time & they are still needed. They in dire need of some reform.

Their all or nothing stance on background checks really put several nails in their coffin. For years their stance was to keep guns out of the hands of criminals, then they come out against something that would not hinder law abiding citizens & help prevent felons, drug adicts & mentally incompetant people from walking into gun shows & purchasing firearms.

Over the last 10 years I have bought & sold numerous guns over the internet. All were shipped & transfered through FFL holders. there is no reason that gun shows couldn't set up instant background checks on the premises.

They are getting into the same class as PETA. A bunch of fat cats drawing big salaries by playing on people's emotions.

  11. The ones from Denmark that the CMP was elling a few years back were supposed to be in good shape.

There's also a gauge spec that measures the throat that they are graded by..

  12. Nope. A DHS funded report from the University of Maryland listed Constitutionalists and Tax protestors ('sovereign citizens') above Jihadists, as the biggest threat to the US.

    https://www.start.umd.edu/pubs/START_UnderstandingLawEnforcementIntelligenceProcesses_July2014.pdf

Those are perceived threats and knowing how many whack jobs are out there it doesn't surprise me. Remember terrorism is a pretty encompassing term. Burning down a store could be terrorism and it happens a lot. I heard the ferguson protestors referred to as terrorists.

In all fairness, "animal rights" extremeists weren't too far down the list either.

Some of those "whack jobs" Beto mentioned are the "domestic enemies of the state" the 2nd Amendment was intended for.

Me personally, I wouldn't lose a minutes sleep if the $hit hit the fan & I had to off some idiots like those that were at the Bundy ranch or their ilk.

  13. I had one steal my gun and my hat once.

Thankfully I got pictures of the little thief in the act and alerted authorities who hauled this career criminal away where she could serve her sentence behind a fence where she belongs! :D

    Pick a spot!

  14. I've been into R/C fixed wing aircraft off & on for about 17 years. The development of reliable electric power & more recently, Go-Pro type compact video cameras has led to inexpensive "Quad Copters" that can be flown beyond line of sight.  The camera must also be used for visual referance & it might still let you get disoriented when the aircraft is out of your vision.

While the Quad Copters are the easiest aircraft to fly, traditional Helicopters are by far the most difficult. Fixed wings are somewhere in between. I've never flown anything but fixed wing.

2 things are going to limit the range, battery life, which is still pretty limited & radio range. Radio range will vary with thick foliage & terrain.

  15. Button bucks serarated from their mama in the fall are about the dumbest thing on 4 legs. I told my son that after he had one walk up to within 10 yards of him. (on the ground) He said it kinda grunted at him when it got down wind, then it took off.
