    I used to have the same thing happen when I wore Johnson green woolies back in the 70s and 80s. Had to by a new pair every year but they sure as hell weren't $300. Funny thing, my Woolrich red and black plaid tuxedo pants have never shown any wear in that area.

    I drew a goat tag last year with 0 points and a muley tag this year with just 1point. Harvested a nice buck both years. I'll have 2 elk, 1 goat and 0 muley points going into next year. Hoping to pull another rabbit out of the hat.

    I just bought a Muddy Infinity 2. Seems pretty slick. I'll set it up on the mountain, but will probably only use it if it's pouring down rain. I detest setting in one place waiting on deer to show up, but it will beat hanging at the cabin feeding the fire and drinking beer.

    Hunting Shower

    I stillhunt in the mountains of Delaware County. The wind there changes every few minutes and if I tried to strictly hunt the wind, I'd probably walk in a 50' circle all day.

    Having said that, I try to take a shower each night and spray myself pretty well before heading out. I also hang my outer layer on the covered porch each night. I have one of those pin on scent vents on my hat that I put a drop of 100% pure vanilla in. 

    Does all this work? Who knows. I get my fair share though.

    Thanks guys for the kind words. I couldn't be happier. 

    Although, 2 days after I tagged out, my guide and I were out scouting for the two other guides and their hunters. We found a bachelor group of 3 bucks that were ALL bigger than mine on the skyline about 3 miles away. Two of them would go over 30". They went over the other side and bedded in a drainage cut in the bluff face there. We called one of the other guides, who brought his hunter over. They executed a perfect stalk and the guy missed twice, off the sticks, at 40 yds!!!!

    By this time, my guide and I had  pulled out and drove around onto the plains below the bluff, on the other side, for a front row seat. When the hunter missed, those three toads came flying out of that cut, noses to assholes, till they hit the face of the rock slide and sidehilled for about a mile before they popped back over the top, never to be seen again. It was very cool!

    Eastern Wyoming. Area B, general tag. Yes, I was with an outfitter on 40,000-50,000 ac ranch. Lots of private and very little public land.

Got a nice Muley and saw hundreds of antelope each day, including some very nice bucks. Helped the ranch owner out a bit by exterminating a couple of coyotes and a bunch of Pdogs from his pastures. Great country and a great time

    I've had a set of Irish Setter Elk Trackers for about 9 years now. Every year I brush them off and apply a good coat of SnoSeal with heat from a blow dryer. I use a scentless antiperspirant spray, then Coolmax polypro liners and a pair of good merino wool socks. Bone dry and warm.

    That goat looks like it's in great shape considering it's 50-60 years old! The doe looks plain mean. I realize everyone's situation is different, but I'd find a way to keep them if they were my dad's or grandpa's.

    Just pulled the trigger on that Muddy Infinity 2 Man. My daughter gave me a $100 gift card for BlackOvis on Father's Day, so it only cost me $50 with free shipping. Eager to give something new a try...but only if it rains hard.

    Ground Blind Set Up

    I've been a still hunter my whole life. Never sat in a stand or a blind. Lately thinking of buying a Muddy 2 man Infinity pop up for those days where it looks like a hard, steady rain. I love still hunting in a lite drizzle, but I'm getting older now, and a cold heavy rain just might get me sick and put me out of action. At least I'll be in the game instead of back at camp feeding the fire and drinking beer.

    Jala Rut, your blind should look great once the woods are in fall/winter color. Good Luck

    I think that's actually one of those flag pole mounts attached to the structure he/she is standing on.
