  1. What part of Ohio? I hunt SE ohio pretty much every year Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Cell cams lighting up and more shooters day lighting. Saw some solid chasing this morning driving but unfortunately have been stuck doing house chores all day. Hoping you guys are having some good hunts! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Sitting on cut beans for the evening sit. Im about a mile from where I was this morning but hoping the action is just as hot Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I won’t shoot a lone doe for just that reason. I’ve been fooled too many times and end up killing a small one Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. 5 years of management and passing really nice young bucks paying off Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Just had three mature bucks fighting in the field I’m on. Two are shooters for me and the other one we are trying to get my buddy’s son on. The closest one got is 70 yards. Hopefully come back out, wind isn’t right for me to call to them unfortunately Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Playing it safe this morning in a pretty low impact spot. Should see a lot but probably not in bow range. Awfully tempting to get more aggressive with how much they are moving but I don’t trust the wind and have been burned too many times with these light and variable winds. Good luck to everyone Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. One of my shooters day lighted tonight but I was on another farm dealing with a trespassing issue. I at least got to watch him an hour after this pushing some deer around a half mile away. Better luck tomorrow hopefully. Glad to see big bucks getting on their feet Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Lol I thought this was you! Wasn’t sure. I’m going second week of November so hopefully will be a good hunt Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. You the man, appreciate it. Of course it’s the camera deepest into the bedding that had to act up. I’ll start with the SD card and trouble shoot my way from there Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Thanks for the thoughts. It’s a brand new SD card and I have 3 other coverts on that property having no issues so don’t think it’s a service issue. Is there anything to do about the CMOS? The camera isn’t even a month old Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Anyone ever get a trail cam picture like this? It’s from a 3 week old Covert wireless. The weird thing is I’ll get a few like this then I’ll get one or two normal ones. Very strange Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Hunting from the ground on public land tonight. I didn’t have time to get to my hunting land so I went pulling cards from some places closer to home and found some good sign that I’m now hunting. Wind isn’t ideal but only option here unfortunately Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Solid evening. Saw a nice up and comer and my buddy hunting across the street had a buck parade. One of them is a deer we have history with and think is 5. I didn’t see him at all last year and thought he was dead so glad to be able to chase him again. It’s getting warmer but bucks still aren’t too riled up. Lots of scrapes but not much interest in does from the 3+ year olds. Hopefully another week or so I’d like to go after the 5 year old tomorrow if I can, but not sure if I’ll be able to with work. If not probably won’t be out until the weekend Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Sitting on a major funnel between ag and bedding. Found some hot sign here yesterday, hopefully get some action tonight Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Good luck! I was going for large mouths but they are up shallow too and have been hammer top water lately so it’s been a blast catching them. Good way to keep me occupied while I’ve waited for deer to heat up Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Had a pretty good morning, saw six does and two small bucks. I also saw half dozen or so fresh scrapes on my way out and cell cams were lighting up this morning so definitely getting on their feet more. Hoping this afternoon is good but first off to catch some bass Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. First hunt of the year… sitting on one of two scrapes I found yesterday and hung stands on. Feels like a good morning, had 4-6 does come through ten minutes ago. Good luck to all out Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I don’t think I can wait that long! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. If I could gun hunt I’d be doing the same thing! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Well I think it's about time I put away the fishing poles and start getting back in the woods and on the forum! I've been patiently waiting for cooler temps and looks like a beautiful cold front coming in.... nice and rainy on the front end means a lot of pent up activity on the back end once it clears out. I'll be out Saturday pulling cards and looking for the hottest scrapes I can find to sit on Sunday and Monday. My cell cams started lighting up the last two nights with scrape activity so decent chance the weather gets the bucks up during day light to freshen them up. I know no one likes to get wet but scouting in the rain is honestly one of the best moves this time of year - the deer don't hear you and your presence washes away.
  22. Out for my second to last hunt. Dropped a doe on the way in, ran 3/4 mile to other side of property and now super sweaty but back in the game. Buddy just shot a good buck out cruising at 2. Gonna be a busy night! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Why not use natural blinds? My primary hunting method is scouting for the hottest sign I can find and then either hunting it from my saddle or on the ground sitting up against a tree or in the middle of some brush, blow down, etc. The area totally dictates which method I use. I get what you’re doing and think it’s commendable but you’re making it really hard on yourself not using what nature provides with cover. Breaking up your figure and having some type of backdrop goes a LONG ways when you have to drawback on a buck. My buck this year was actually the first I’ve killed not on the ground and was 15’ up in my saddle Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. True statement! My buck this year made his own trail right through the middle of a thicket thrashing branches as he went. The doe on the other hand came in on a normal trail Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
