  1. Hello Hunting NY brothers! I am teaming up with the Jerzee Boyz Outdoors and we are in a contest to get our own hunting show on the Pursuit channel. I will be bringing crossbows to the show and the contest is very close! This is the last week to vote and we need your help, it only takes a second to vote at http://www.votethesearch.com/ Just click Jerzee Boyz Outdoors and click vote and that is it! Thanks for all of your support! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=10FkypfJPV8
  2. Buckblaster have 2.75". I have an old package of Razorbak 5's I have been wanting to use again, but the last 4 are new in the package and I can't bring myself to use them! lol
  3. A couple years ago I wanted to see if bigger was better... would a extreme cutting diameter broadhead kill faster? We all want to make the quickest kill possible so I tried the Rocket Sledgehammer with a 3.5" cutting diameter. The blades are .027 and sliced through ribs like a band saw! The deer was almost fully field dressed but I was surprised that the deer still ran just over 30 yards! I followed an organ trail to the deer! The proper KE is needed for these heads and they do weigh 150 grains... They have been discontinued but you can find them on ebay at times. My conclusion to this is that bigger is not better on a well placed arrow! But with that said, you see on the hunting TV shows so many horrible shots that the deer are recovered because of large cutting diameter broadheads, not saying that a small cutting diameter head can't get lucky too but the percentage is higher with a larger cutting diameter of hitting an artery etc.. I personally have settled on 1.5-1.75" cutting diameter heads for my bow and 2" or larger for my crossbow. I think the most impressive thing taken from the video is how well the large .027 blades help up and how a razor sharp blade can slice through bone like butter! None of the blades broke, they did bend.
  4. Here in NJ during the big blizzard that never happened... I was pretty bored so I took my hunting footage from 2010-2014 and put together a arrow slinging, critter whacking video!
  5. Just finished up a "Best Of" self video footage for my playlist series, got multiple angles on a nice NJ buck! Little Intermission between hunts too! LOL
  6. The buck did have a limp... he looked like he was still rutting, sniffing and looking at the doe with his nose towards the ground. I thought that if he was sniffing and thinking about a little wango tango with a doe, he will most likely be fine, especially since he was putting weight on that leg... if he was injured by a shot, the young doe taste just as good, let the bucks grow!
  7. That crossbow shoots 400 FPS, the arrow was on the ground, see the Lumenok? Arrow did not break, clean pass through, broadhead was a Rocket Hammerhead 100 gr w/2" cutting dia. They were 20 yards away.
  8. I love it! I have the Sniper GT and they will not have that model/riser anymore so I will be holding on to this one... I had the Lethal Force and sold it, regretted it and I will not make that mistake again! This bow is just right, fits perfect and when I hit my anchors, it is spot on! Even if it is low of light, when I have my knuckle on my ear lobe and string on my nose... being one with the bow is an awesome feeling and all confidence in picking a hair and hitting it is a beautiful thing... great bows, you have to shoot one! And then you will buy it.
  9. Didn't check the trail cam yet, I had a GoPro there too but I didn't use the footage in this video. I started recording my hunts 4 years ago to share with family and friends... then others started watching and young/beginner hunters started commenting. I enjoy their comments and I think always about making the perfect shot and waiting for the perfect angle to show them humane shots. I think the videos are educational and I have been told by many how much they have helped their hunting. I don't have any pressure of going on a hunt that a sponsor paid for and I have to make a kill and it seems like a lot just want to get an arrow in one and look for it the next day for the show!I never did it for money but I did work at an archery store in the early 90's selling and setting up bows and helping people with their form etc.. As far as business goes, I am trying to make more money, who isn't and if I could make some extra coin doing something I love, that would be great! But for now with one in college and another graduating HS, the hunting industry is very tight and I am not making a dime from the hunting industry... so I won't be leaving my real job any time soon!
  10. Got a message they needed a deer for the game dinner! Scorpyd Orion, Executioner bolt topped with a Rocket Hammerhead broadhead!!! Think she might have made it 5 yards closer to the truck!
  11. Happy New Year!!! Some "best of" footage... arrow slinging, mule kickin', deer dropping bow hunting!!!
  12. I wasn't crazy about the second tune, I didn't spend a lot of time checking out ambient music to fit the first tune.
  13. Got a nice size doe for those in need at the food bank this Christmas! Also locked in my spot for the township management hunt for next year, hit the minimum and the population is so dense, not very hard to do!
  14. Thanks. Did you mean for that to rhyme? Thanks, I know but since baiting has become legal in NJ, it really makes for a quick ethical kill, perfect for if you are in a management township hunt like I am and we are legal at 150' from a house with bow which is great where the McMansions are with huge lots where the deer like to hang... You can drop your bait where there are no obstructions like a twig etc. to take your arrow off course to miss or wound and usually you can just wait for that perfect broadside shot. In my zone there is no bag limit on doe and allowed 1 buck per season.
  15. Wind was really blowing, blew'em off the tree into the field! jk, NJ... legal
  16. A buddy got his first self video hunts on camera so I edited his footage for him and uploaded it, he puts an awesome shot on this buck! Great job for his first couple self video hunts.
  17. If you want the best... compare the limb draw weight to speed, can you change strings/cables and keep it in tune at home, the best trigger on the market, quiet and simply the best crossbow in the world, period! That would be the Scorpyd crossbows and they have draw weights and cocking devices to meet every hunters needs. I am working on a review of the new Stryker, it comes in second place. Stryker has new limb technology and a redesigned cam that reduces limb deflection and increases speed! Stryker has a great trigger too but keeping in tune and changing your strings... overall the Scorpyd crossbows have the edge and the new Orion (built on the Ventilator platform) are available with Acudraw.
  18. Use the Rage 2 blade with the 2" cutting diameter. Make sure you use the collars correctly, I see guys lining the blades up incorrectly on the collars. The Rage heads are expensive and do an excellent job but I get the same results with the Rocket/Trophy Ridge Hammerhead 3 blade with 2" cutting diameter, just use 2 bands on the blades, they sell for around $25.00 a 3 pack!
