DROK0352
If your doing it "by hand", drop 2 or three trees at a time. Limb them out and stack 5-6' trunk pieces I find this method works best for burning the wood at camp later on. It's easier to transport via atv trailer. Once they're at yer camp cuttem down to 16" n split. I've made the mistake of dropping 20 trees at a time and having a mangled mess! THEYRE A LOT BIGGER ONCE THEY HIT THE GROUND! mxsmitz201
ive been clearing trees and brush for years now with my new holland compact tractor (boomer series 1630) with a bucket and almost all attachments out there. ill tell you right now you dont want to cut the trees period until they are on the ground. you need to get in at all angles and really work the sob especially if its a maple tree, they seem to be the most stubborn, where as cherry trees are easy as pie thanks to a shallow root system. i dont know what your kubotas size is or capabilities is with this work or what your woods looks like but the 1630 is 26hp i believe and can handle with out digging around the trunk trees between 8-12 inches in diameter and ive been clearing areas that used to be a field over 40 yrs ago so its not like im clearing old growth monster trees. its just so nice getting the roots and tree all in one without leaving stumps. when im done clearing ill float the bucket and scrape off any debri and start tilling away
