wraithen
Just got orders for Korea with a return to Drum. Thought I left there for good a few years ago but they won't let me stay gone forever. I've been predator hunting in WA and was planning on deer and elk but the army didn't agree. I'll be duck hunting this fall. I'm just trying to figure out how things work in NY since I never hunted there before. Can not believe I have to leave my pistols in another state. It doesn't make any sense to me but I'll avoid the whole court time thing. I'll be lurking while I'm in korea trying to figure out what I'm doing for the 2014 season. Won't actually be over there until DEC 2013.
fishuntrapper
besides at least a small game license, you will need a duck stamp, have a hip registration number, and if you hunt on frderal wma"s you need to pass a waterfowl identification course. thanks for all you do and good luck! Rev Ev
I took the hunters saftey course here when i first came to ny, just to be sure of anything crazy. I picked up a few things that I wouldn't have otherwise known, like back tags. never heard of them till i cam here. you might want to get a copy of the regs from DEC sent to you so you can browse it. I also picked up NY outdoor news. It's got a lot of info on the area for those of us who aren't native new yorkers.
