growalot
I was right in predicting there would be logging on my boarders this fall...if all goes the way I figured smack dab in bow...2 right now...lucked out on first one this spring...baring the turkey hatch...for scheduling according to the logger himself caused the early cut..there could have been 3...I have to say between the new hundreds of acres of corn and the logging I can not predict the impact...other than I'm happy plots are now growing well...and know the deer are here...for the outer row of corn in field next door is being dragged into my woods nightly...lol....hhhmm I am hoping what this will cause is the deer wanting to bed in on us due to the disturbance...by gun season I'm sure they'll go for the cover of tree tops...but...they still have to walk across us to get to the plots in the middle of our property ...or to the property that was logged this spring...should be interesting...glad I have 2 extra weeks to scout out best stand areas and see whats up early in unaffected areas....Maybe a good thing...overlooking the noise... Doewhacker
Sounds like it will work to your benefit, they logged across the road from me a few years back and there were fresh tracks in the roads every night. Didn't effect them too bad in my case.
growalot
Well well ...they moved the skidder from the west side of us to the east side...on the leased land...Being Friday they should start cutting Monday or Tuesday....SWEET!!.. That block of woods is what they use to get to the field if not our place....so I'll end up with downed tree tops long my east border and then along my west...superb bedding...I'll be sitting in the middle with two WR trail plots .....that lead them to the road and the big food plots across the street and the farmer was headed this way with the liquid manure spreaders...hitting fields along the way...won't be long...they are using the injector truck Edited October 5, 2012 by growalot
