erussell
Well after a week of gun hunting all I have to show for it was one big doe. Ill have to post the pics later. Wasted 3 mornings kicking people off our land, I was starting to get seriously pizzed. But I guess they finally got the pic. Lots of doe and baby bucks sighted but nothing with the rack I wanted. 132 eight pointer
Still some time left.I didn't see much last week myself.I passed on 3 doe because of trees in the way but sometimes I wonder if I should have tried a shot.At least I know I didn't take a poor shot.Good luck, I think the hunting is going to pick up again soon. erussell
So far not one set of keeper antlers has walked by for gun! Still have a tally of 2 doe. Was going to go out yesterday for the first day of muzzleloader but it wouldnt stop raining. Hope to get out today and atleast get another doe. Been seeing alot of doe so that shouldnt be to hard. Not expecting to see a buck but stranger things have happened.
erussell
Daughter was sick yesterday so I couldnt get out. Today was very cold and from the rain Monday everything was frozen solid. Was kind of like walking on bags of potato chips. After about a half hr of this I gave up and went home. Deer werent moving and quiet stalking was out of the question. On a side note the baiter I have refered to in other posts has found his food block and returned it to his stand which now gets him a call to the DEC. Im done messing with this guy!!!! erussell
Went out today for 8 hours and stalked a few different area's. I am very suprised at the lack of fresh deer sign. I even let one 200 acre area set for a week before going back today and I think I found one set of fresh tracks, no deer. I then went to another spot and kicked deer up right at the parking area. Looked like a herd of fawns. Must have been 8 babies, very weird. I did notice though that there are alot of very trusting people out there who do not lock their stands. And very expensive stands to. Though I guess they say a lock only keeps honest people honest. Am going out probably one more time this week but we'll see. Pulling my stands later this week and getting ready for some winter walleye fishing in the river. I can smell the fillet's cooking now!!!
