growalot
I know many have already been in their ladder stands so this is for those who have not and own the older ones with out clips... I went to a new set yesterday and climbed up...harness on and my climbing safety attached...This is an older no clips at connections type....usually the stand needs a hammer to loosen sections but the storm winds were bad...I get to the seat and as I grab for a hold the seat platform pops up on one corner..If I wasn't holding on for dear life as I ALWAYS do climbing and not have the climbing safety attached..well 15 foot back fall wouldn't have ended well...even a ladder stand can fall apart at the worst spots....I did fix it...but will be drilling holes for clips this summer when I take it down to wire brush and Rustolium it again..... mark3885
I drilled all mine this past summer ,then bolted. I had a similar incident. I bolted them together because I leave them up all year round

Hunterny28
Sounds like you got lucky! What a way to start your hunt off. Glad you were able to stay on there and for the heads up. I recently upgraded and have the clips
